I had 5 items dispatched on 29th and 30th Nov which still haven't arrived, Yet we still get mail every day. Has anyone else noticed that its alot slower or is it just me, and my parcels have gone astray?
I have about 5 customers who have contacted me saying that there item has not arrived. Funny how every one of these was posted on the 2nd.Lifes a !!!!! and then you marry one:D0 -
All my queries seem to be around 6, 7 and 8th going North and East.0

The problem is that we will all get low DSR's and it isn't our fault even though the speed of postage is from payment to seller posting and not how long RM took to post it.Lifes a !!!!! and then you marry one:D0

What is going on with the Royal Mail postal service, just don't believe it's all down to the weather.
Had 2 Ebay items refunded for non delivery, still have 4 outstanding for delivery since 03 Dec, will soon be asking for a refund on these.
There has to be mail sacks stored somewhere to account for all this missing mail.
I have never known the RM system to be so late and unreliable amd pointless waiting for any expected deliveries0 -

basically this is what happens
you have the day to day operation
mail flows along the system and works as normal
then you have an issue
in this case the weather
now you have millions of items backed up
at some point the mail centres get full (they arent designed with much headroom past day to day running)
you cant send the mail to the delivery offices as they are at capacity.
so the mail is diverted to overflow building (spare, unused, rented space)
in the overflow building you will prhaps have agency workers doing sorting.
its slower and generally less accurate
meanwhile in the mail centres/DO's you still have a flow of mail.at this time of year its running full capacity anyway.
so you need ot process that and transport sorted backlog items back into the feeds
this is where you end up with dates that are 'lost' in the mix and where it seems they are being ignored.
eg some mail collection were sent down south from Edinburgh as there was no space in the mail centres or overflow buildings.
if the problemis a local issues then you can divert mail outwith the area and get it sorted.but this time of year means you cant divert any surples the same way.0 -
How long are people leaving it before going to paypal for a claim ?
I ordered 2 dog coats 27th Nov (about £40 worth as they are for really really big dogs) I got an email from the seller on the 4th Dec saying they would be late but then nothing more. I have tried asking and got no reply and can't get through on the number listed.
They did mark it as sent 7th Dec and other things have turned up . Our on foot post has been delayed a lot but the van is still doing the rounds everyday.
I can understand the delay etc but how long do you wait before doing something? I mean it is money I don't want to throw away because if they are not coming I still need to buy the old boy a coat ( he is not really looking like he will make it past this winter so I am trying to keep him as warm and dry as possible)There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

I wait 10 days from purchase before contacting the seller. At the 14 day point I ask for my money back.
I then wait a day or two for the refund then go through Paypal to make a claim if needed.
At that point I have it in my mind that they have not sent it, it's lost or been mis-deliverd.0 -

It is not the sellers fault that post is delayed, what happens when you get your refund and the goods arrive?Lifes a !!!!! and then you marry one:D0 -
I think 10 days is quite soon in the present snow climate. 10 days seems the average time for post to be delivered at the moment. At any other time of the year I'd say if it hasn't got there in 10 days it isn't going to.0
