Posted an item to a PO postcode, Isle Of White on Wed 8th Dec, is it normal that it still hasn't arrived as the buyer keeps me updated every few days saying "just letting you know it still hasn't arrived".

Not like I can do much but to put faith in them that it will be there before Christmas, does post take longer to get to Isle Of White, and postcodes that couriers won't normally deliver or trying charging double to but Royal Mail charge the same.

    Thanks.

I think 10 days is quite soon in the present snow climate. 10 days seems the average time for post to be delivered at the moment. At any other time of the year I'd say if it hasn't got there in 10 days it isn't going to.

Royal Mail say that after 10 working days you can claim for lost post as long as you have a certificate of posting (which they are now getting rid of) or have sent it recorded signed for.

It is not the sellers fault that post is delayed, what happens when you get your refund and the goods arrive?

I know what you are saying but then again...How do I know it is even posted ? It is easy to say "oh it was the snow/ ice etc " and blame the Royal Mail when all the time you are just waiting for the time limit on a claim to run out.

I am not saying that is what is happening but they have my money and I have nothing, not even a message so how do I know what is going on ? Should I wait so long that I am unable to get my money back ?
If they have sent it then the tracking number should clear up any problem with paypal as it was for over £35 quid.

It might not be the sellers fault but it surely aint mine and is it ok for me to be wondering where my stuff is when I paid straight away ?

I agree to some extent, there has to be a cut off point and for me it's 16 days after purchase before I file a Paypal claim.
If the goods turn up during the claim, I would cancel the dispute.
Never been in the situation where I have been refunded and then the goods have turned up.
The seller by then might have made their claim to the Royal Mail, so hopefully they get refunded. At that point the goods have been accounted for as lost by the Royal Mail.

It is the pads of COP that they are getting rid of which means if you use a franking machine or stamps you will have to que up to get a COP

Everything over letter size I use a COP and if as one person is saying 15 working days for missing post then ebay will have to get there act together to safeguard the seller better.
