Why should they have prioritised packets all week? Ignore junk mail yes, but people do still write letters.

Because they've ignored packets for the last 2 weeks. At least in my area and that was from the posties mouth. People want their gifts in time for Christmas. Probably not too bothered about letters. Letters should follow the last Xmas posting dates or they shoudn't get delivered, but they are at the expense of the huge backlog of parcels.

Are Post Offices open on Monday or Tuesday? I have a parcel to collect, but won't be able to get to the Post Office before they close tomorrow. Guessing I'll have to wait until Wednesday to get it.

Thought so, never mind it's nothing important, not a present, so that's a bonus :)

According to my nearest crown branch, they are open on Tuesday. Outrageous in my view, it should be Wednesday.
  • I find it strange that the milkman can deliver my milk everyday with no problem. Yet the Post office can only manage to deliver mail twice in a week in Milton Keynes. As for getting parcels I have not seen a Royal mail van in our street since last thursday. I still waiting for lots of parcels from early december. As for Royal mail stating on thier website that we will be carrying out evening delivelies thats a con not one in my area!

Same for me - two deliveries this week and still missing two items. Apparently there were supposed to have been several deliveries a day, evening deliveries and Sunday deliveries!

Does anyone know what time deliveries stop today (I presume it's going to be lunch time ).

given an RM van just went up the main road i would say no.
deliveries run times are area dependent on how late staff can and are willing to work.
they're working till 4-5pm at my old office today

there were never meant to be 'several deliveries' a day.
    how exactly does that work?
there were however people specifically doing packets for the whole duty.
this would it would be done on an area by area basis.
Sunday deliveries have been on as well.
again,it is down to the are and what staff are available
