  • I ordered a CD from Amazon on the 4th of Dec, delivery due by 10th Dec. And they're blaming snow, we had none until Friday. Not expecting this in time for Christmas. No post Fri or Sat, the state of our roads and side streets very much in doubt for tomorrow. But in all fairness this is the only item i've had gone astray everything else has been delivered as normal.

God:A help us all when winter starts properly:A

I heard about that - but apparently that's for things like inproperly addresses items etc, where they've got to try and work out who it's actually intended for, or find out who sent it so they can return it to them instead. What I'm talking about is: say I send a parcel to my parents - I know it's addressed correctly because I know their address very well. I put my address on the back of it - obviously I've got my own address correct. But it never arrives because it's gone 'missing'. Where did it go? Not the place in Belfast, because it would then make its way either to my parents or back to myself as both addresses are correct and clearly displayed. What happens to truly lost post, does it fall unnoticed out of a bag while out delivering? Slip down the back of a sofa in the staff room? Where is it all going?!

    theft
loss eg falls out of van/bag
damage(rendering it undeliverable as the address is damaged)
    misdelivered
    missaddressed
address wipes off those plastic pouches as the sender used the wrong pen
buyer forgets ot update their new address

    amongst others

    have you read my reply?
would you like me to answer where a misdelivered item goes?
any item undeliverable would go to RLB (Belfast) and be checked for any way of return

That's ridiculous, how many other countries have snow all winter and yet functioning postal systems?! RM just take the biscuit...sorry, no offence, Custardy, but surely this is OTT?!

Buy some good strong boots with proper grip and then they'd be safer. Our lad here was out in the snow at the weekend in shorts. If he can do it, so can they.

I am an advocate of proper H&S rules, employee protection at work is very important (my dad works in construction and always wears safety gear on-site, and expects his employees to do the same), and it takes a LOT to get me to say "Elf and Safety gorn maaaad!" but this is just stupid - if they lived in Poland or Russia they'd be laughed out of the room. The little-discussed point about H&S is that employees must take responsibility for their own safety - which means wearing proper equipment to do their job safely and practicably - which means that instead of downing tools, the union should be advising their members to get themselves kitted out properly to ensure deliveries.

  • DHL lost my parcel and denied it!!!! I ordered my camera on the 8th online and was Next Day Delivery....waited and waited.

Just today, 20th, I had enough! I enquired with DHL, saying I checked the online tracking and it hasnt moved from Lichfield Servi...ce Centre since the 9th, they said due to adverse weather there was a backlog, I asked 'are you sure it's not lost?' they said 'of course not'

Rang Jessops immediately to release my anger and they said they will also check the progress, got back to me and said it was lost!!!! They will send the claim forms to DHL to order a replacement! So that's another extra week I have to wait!

Royal Mail have been great this time round... DHL you're going down...!
