Am I the only one who really fancies a big chunk of gingerbread having read this thread?! Washed down with a big latte of course...Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Just to say there was no repeating my orde back to us at any time! It was only when we were picking our stuff, mixed up with other orders from the high bit at the end of the counter that I realised there was no piece of ginger cake. No-one wanted to know which is when I queued up again to ask.0

And what was the reply when you asked?0

The poster says "Gingerbread Latte and Ginger Loaf Cake". And something like "perfect together" (this is from memory, I tend to be still asleep when I'm getting my morning coffee)
GB latte is something like £3.25 for a venti, as opposed to £2.70 for a "standard" venti latte (I don't do "small" - sorry, tall - coffees). And the cake is a couple of quid.
So getting a tall latte (GB or otherwise) and a piece of cake for £2.99 is a bargain. But you have to ask for what's on the poster.
There's no excuse for not getting what you want. You go in and ask for what you want. They repeat it back to you (in Starbucksian). They then call it out to the barista who repeats it back to them. The barista then calls it out to you when they deliver the drink at the other end of the bar.
If you go in and ask for "a cup of coffee", you'll be guided through the process. They'll find out what size you want. They'll find out if you want filter (drip), an americano or a milk-based one (cappucino, latte). If one of the first two, they'll ask if you want room for milk. And then they'll translate as above, and will ask if there's anything else they can get you today (at which point you ask for your cake etc)
In my case, I have a (very complex) standard order: Venti, 5 shot, sugar free vanilla, skimmed milk, extra hot latte (and yes, that's the order it goes on the cup: V, 5, SFV, N, XH, L). And I get it perfect every time. I also have a registered starbucks card cos with it you get syrups and extra shots free, amongst other things.
I have to agree, our starbucks are fab with orders 99% of the time.
5 shots though - wow!
I like a venti latte with an extra shot and sugar free vanilla syrup - and always use a starbucks card for the free shots (not to mention lots of freebie vouchers by post). Must admit I didn't like it quite so much when my mum ordered it skinny!
Gingerbread latte is our fave, love to have one as a Crimbo treat, but I agree the poster is clear that it's gingerbread latte, and ginger loaf cake is also available (though it was sold out anyway when we popped in).A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -

(as you can probably tell, I have never even been to Starbucks or Costa!)"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -

in that case i would ask if it came with tea but i wouldnt be that bothered about it as i dont drink tea anyway0 -

So it never actually said a ginger cake. In fact it said something that had ginger in it?

If it had said ginger cake AND latte then I would be annoyed. But in Starbucks, it's fair to assume that a ginger cake latte is a ginger cake flavoured latte.
Do you have to speak Starbucksese to 'get' their menu then? Not exactly inviting and clear to new customers.
(Personally I wouldn't set foot in the place)My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
You may think Debenhams might not rip you off, but it's the computer system that made the error, not their staff.0
