Just to let you all know... the form 11ctc from the Inland Revenue website is no longer there. If however you go to the Entitlement Agency website which is one of these agencies that charge £94 for the privilege of recouping money from the tax that is owed to you and print off their forms, one of the forms on there is the 11CTC. Just fill it out and enclose a covering letter with it to your tax office. Hope this helps!0

Please help anyone, i once printed all the forms off from the Entitlements agency as the website looked very official and it actually thought it was something to do with the Tax Credits and HMRC. I then sent them off and later realised that this agency charge you £94 to do it for you. I then telephoned them and CANCELLED this and was ASSURED that this had been cancelled and then sent out my own letters to Tax office requesting the 11CTC. Later I rang thetax office who said that my letter had not been received. I then sent another recorded delivery and this morning I have received a letter from our Tax office to say that they have paid this money to our agent nominated THE ENTITLEMENTS AGENCY. I have called the Tax office this morning and they say their systems are down. How do I stand now. This agency told me that everything was cancelled with them. I have claimed myself and sent the letter recorded delivery. I have tried to call this so callled agency and its just an anwerphone.Just to let you all know... the form 11ctc from the Inland Revenue website is no longer there. Now sorted as the Entitlements agency have sent back the cheque to us and its up to us now to get the cheque cancelled and another issued again in my hubbys name. The tax office have said this will take another 6 weeks cause of the backlog of post again and then another couple of weeks to get it sent out. I think its ridiculous the amount of time it take to open their post.
Whenever I sent in cheques for them from self employment they were cashed within the week.0 -

Hate to tell you but with that code, if your income was more than £8500 you have UNDERpaid tax for that year. You've had the allowance without the restriction that limits it to 10%.
If you haven't been asked to repay it I suggest you keep quiet and don't rock the boat querying it!
Whoever suggested writing a snotty letter- not a good idea. The Govt is cutting back on staff severely and most of the people doing this work are facing losing their jobs/ being moved elsewhere. They can't legitimately ignore your letter but human nature being what it is if you've only got so many hours in a day and too much work which letters will end up at the bottom of the pile do you think? Nobody needs to be rude.0 -
Try here for the form you need:

Probably a silly question but I've just called my local tax office and the tax relief was not applied so we were told that he is entitled to claim for 2002-2003.
Looking at the form 11CTC it asks
Did either you or your partner pay tax at the higher rate?
What should I put here, yes or no? I'm thinking yes because the relief wasn't applied?

Does anyone know the answer to the above question? Please.0

Hi lalamb, that's not a question anyone else could answer for you. It has to do with whether either of you paid higher rate tax at the time because you were high earners, rather than paying at the standard rate. If either of you earned over about £35k per year at the time, then you would have been taxed at 40%, which is higher rate. I hope that helps.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)
