What is the billing frequency on this? When will we first see if they charged the standard rate?

A post on here somewhere. Maybe they will see this and repost because I doubt I'll find it now.

I had a letter two days before the date of each changeover, one for gas and one for elec, giving the date that supply would be with them so I presume that that counts as them telling me.

I had a letter asking for meter readings for the electricity and confirming the date for the switch. Still awaiting the gas.

I've got a feeling that this so called 'registration' is something else. The description I was given related to the Online Saver 7 team transferring you from the standard tariff to Online Saver 7.

I imagine if they are busy, that could be some time. A completely bizarre process, especially if they don't readjust the billing to the Online Saver Rate from the switching date.

That's why I wanted to see if anyone had been billed yet and find out what happened.

You're right Backfoot. I just called them. We are put on the standard tariff until the meter readings with the old supplier are confirmed and then they send another letter transferring to the Online7 tariff. But you obviously didn't moan for long enough... ;)

So they are going to adjust your records so all consumption is billed at the Online rates for Gas and Electricty?

Did you have to speak to a Supervisor to get it agreed?

I just spoke to the guy who answered my call. He has emailed me confirmation that I will get the tariff from the date of supply. He was insistent on the phone that this was a gesture of goodwill and not as per the contract!
  • I think Im on the same boat here. I have had both letters about my gas & elec but im not sure if they have sent confirmation of the Online Saver 7 ?. Whats the best way for me to approach this and try to get them to bill me for OS7 rates from day one.

I have never seen this sort of T&C before.

this is interesting about being billed at a standard rate, i will be calling them tomorrow to ask about this !!

Has anyone signed upto to your" online account" with EDF on their site,

I have all you need is your 12 digit account number,

I have a section for supply c/w cooling off period,

it states my electric change over date is , 31/12/2010 and gas a week later 7//01/2011 . Gas is changed 7 days after :o

So listening to some above , i take it I will be put on the standard tarriff for electric for a week at a higher rate until my gas is switched ?

No, you will put on the standard rate on both gas and elec until they change you over to the right tariff which according to the guy I spoke to, takes another week or so.

I have tried to open an online account but it says it is not available to me.
