I would tell your daughter that the parents are paying for the kids to go and that Santa did not invite them as he never picks any one child over another. Whether you child tells the other kids is not your problem, It is their parents, for lying in the first place. I can't believe that 4 sets of parents could not see a problem with what they were doing when every one one here can.

So to be clear - if you can afford to take your child to Lapland to meet Santa, and part of the experience is a letter from Santa inviting the child 'chosen', then it is lying - but if you can't, and instead send a letter yourself, it is not? Jealousy much.

It never ceases to amaze me how some parents will gladly ruin someone else's child's happiness because they can't afford to give their own child the same experience. And they have the cheek to claim the moral high ground.

The daft woman should probably have it pointed out to her that at least a third of the school know that Santa isn't real so know she was telling lies, which isn't really to be encouraged in adults. Or maybe you should contact the local paper and say isn't it fabulous that the school have agreed to subsidise trips to Lapland next year for star pupils.

I wouldn't complain, but I would be tempted to let her know that the children have been told that she wasn't telling the truth. She's ruined it for the children that are going really, because other parents will also have told their children the truth, and they will all know it's not the real Santa. The magical aspect of the holiday will be lost as all their little mates tell it how it really is. That is punishment enough methinks.

So you think the OP should contact the local paper and lie, as well as trying to ruin the happiness of the better off children? That'll make her popular. Her kids will probably be bullied because of this anyway, so why not?

It's not worth getting wound up Fang. This thread is a month old and I'm sure the OP is well over her upset now. It was only revived to let someone brag about their own proposed trips for their kid (where's the roll eyes smiley when you need it)

I think it's outrageous, and this sort of nonsense seems to be more common/noticable i small schools.

Personally I would have had a chat with the head teach so the school are aware of how other children may have felt.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I know, but I do like to put people in their place when after the heady feelings of self-righteousness have !!!!!!ed off.

Fang, pointless posts. Is it really ok to make the majority of the school think they're not special enough in Santa's eyes?

Two wrongs may not a right make, but you might try to find some sensitivity somewhere, buried deep within your soul.

It's unwise, it's certainly not to be encouraged, and I don't believe there was any malice in the Head's actions. There was clear malice in the OP's actions by trying to ruin the experience for those children. That makes her far worse than the Head. She's coming across as deeply jealous and bitter.

No, she comes across as a mother who doesn't want her child to feel left out. Are you a parent Fang?

I'm just wondering if the OP did complain and what the head's response to it was.....

The headteacher sounds completely gormless, and lacking in much common sense, but none of this was the fault of any of the kids.

Hope those kids that went enjoyed the experience, and that the OP's daughter had a lovely Christmas anyway.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
