I then politely pointed out to her that the price match they offer says "any of our products" with no mention of exclusions.
Hmmm, I thought one of the earlier posts in this thread implied that they'd changed the wording so that the 110% only applies to DSLR cameras......
I clearly should have got them to price match my Extreme III card as well!!!Stompa0 -
their brochure clearly states 'any' but I did notice the instore price promise posters weren't on display.
Doesn't really help you but worth a try if you wanted another card at that great price.....0 -
went to my local Jessops (perth) and they were unwilling to match the price of a 2Gb Ultra II card that I had seen on Amazon, the cheapest of which was £29.50
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B0007QU6WY/ref=dp_olp_2/202-3629015-4689429
apparently, they could not verify that it was from a UK site!!!
dejected, went back to work, and did some more research.
went to the store the next day and took a print out of a store that i had seen it for approx £35.
App - "none in stock"
So, took out another sheet, for another retailer,
http://www.memorycardzoo.co.uk/75/Sandisk/Compact-Flash-Ultra-II/2GB/
and they conceeded!! (£69.99 - £35.33) £34.66 - 10% = £3.46
Price paid - £31.86
Needless to say, there were approx 5 more sheets in my pocket, and I was sure that I would get the card!
USEFUL POINT. I did the above calculation on an excel s'sheet, with the different prices that I had seen, and so gave that to the asst as well so I get the full 110%
Best bit - there was a customer buying a Nikon D80, and he wanted a 2Gb card as well - he ended up getting the same card as me for the same price, as opposed to the £79.99 that Jessops were tying to sell it for!! :rolleyes:One day I want to be the pigeon...... and not the statue!0 -
Weggy wrote:Really? Which card was that? From what I could see, ALL memory cards at Jessops were severely overpriced....
Sorry, I didn't make myself very clear there. I bought my 2GB Extreme III card from elsewhere for £47. I think Jessops were selling it at £79.99 (it doesn't appear to be on their website right now) so I would only have saved £3.30.Stompa0 -

Ah-ha got you!
I'd reckon Jessops were selling it at more than that though, considering my 4gb version of the same card was £199....!0 -

Well I thought it was £79.99, but given that they currently want £73.99 for the 1GB version you may well be correct - too late now though!Stompa0
