    Ouch!

And I can well imagine they have lost a LOT of money through this... I have no sympathy for them though - they should of researched it further before they made the promise.

If one thing though, it's highlighted to all of us how expensive Jessops actually are compared to many online stores... my example being the Sandisk Extreme III 4gb Compact Flash card.... a whopping £200 in store, compared to £87 on Amazon....
  • I know I can buy online at the other store for a cheaper price - but it did make me angry when I went all the way there (being a loyal customer of theirs) and was turned away for £300 worth of business (and much more in accessories, etc).

But the worst was when there was a sign instore - and I have the current brochure that I picked up in store today AND a 'Christmas Savings' leaflet thing that I also picked up in store today and BOTH clearly have the Internet Price Match policy prominently written on them with NO indication of it ending or any terms that it can be withdrawn at any time or without notice, etc...
  • WOW!

Just been contacted by a Store Manager, who tells me they are still allowed to price match for now, but it will be pulled soon when all the adverts are removed.

So - make the most of it whilst you can (and ask for the manager if they initially won't price match it for you)!!!

They tried to worm out of it last weekend when I went in, but stand your ground, read the offer to them and get your price match....

They can't pull out of it until they issue a notice of correction, or advertise it in store, in magazines etc etc

Tried 3 near me today, only the store at 1 The Poutry in the City of London would pricematch against amazon and today's the last day that they'll do it.

  • Suggest you phone first and get verbal agreement to save a wasted journey. One manager told me they will start again soon even when this deal has finished.

Do they pricematch pixmania. Been after a Canon Powershot G7 last couple of weeks now and pixmania seems to be the cheapest at £303.

I was aiming to buy a Nikon D40 from Jessops with the benefit of their price promise, so the removal of it was a bit of a pain!

However, I looked online and via Froogle found buyacamera.co.uk - the D40 was a good £60 cheaper than Jessops. Ordered it at 11.35am yesterday, and it arrived today! Very impressed!!!

I don't know, but FWIW for the G7 the Jessops website says: "Special Order - Usually available within 28 days (Not guaranteed for delivery before Christmas)"

  • Does, anyone know the legal stance on a company offering to price match "any item" that they sell with leaflets displayed outside of thier branches and when you go inside they refuse to do it,

I went into one of thier stores to be told that they would price mactch but needed a copy of the item with that days date on it, not the previous day!

So I returned a couple of hours later, armed with the info. then suprise suprise they didn`t have it in stock, but the other branch 1/2 a mile away did, we then went to the other branch but they refused to match the price,

I have emailed them them but no response yet, but I am sure that companies are not allowed to advertise this type of deal and then refuse to honour it,

My next stop will be the OFT of trading standards I think.
