Would knowing that you could have got £80 cashback via Quidco make you more stressed then? :D
    .

More is always good...but i was happy enough with what i was getting and altho i'd read peoples posts on the forum about Quidco i had no time to look into what it was all about as was the last day of the deal so was just trying to get the switch in on time!

When i saw comments about 'hasn't tracked' it sounded complicated and put me off!

One for the future for me, i'm still a novice at this :)

It's basically free money, no strings attached. If (worst case) it doesn't track, you are no worse off!
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • I applied to switch to EDF for dual fuel (Online S@ver v7) paying by monthly direct debit through the energyhelpline.com website in November and received written conformation from EDF yesterday saying that the switch over from my present suppliers was in progress.

So far so good but what confused me was that EDF informed me that my welcome bonus would amount to £50 this contradicts the energyhelpline.com website that states that if i switch through them then i would receive a £100 welcome cash back bonus.

Who is right and who is wrong ?

Should i contact EDF or energyhelpline.com on this matter ?

The £100 is from EDF as mentioned here on their page.. http://www2.savetodaysavetomorrow.com/DualFuel.html

    Dear Jumping Jack ,
Like you my application refers to a £100 Welcome Bonus but the Royal Mail correspondence included a flyer referring to a £50 Welcome Bonus (Dec 2010) . 'Jamie' at EDF after consultation with colleagues confirmed that this was an 'administrative error' and that the application will be subject to a £100 Welcome Bonus .

Thank you for the reply nsdlil, i will give EDF a phone call on Monday just to give them a reminder of the terms of my switch over. ;)

    Regards Jumping Jack.

i changed over 2 weeks back and got my quidco tracked email within 2 hours
  • Like the OP, jumpingjack and other posters i signed up to switch to edf before the end of november on the understanding there was £100 welcome bonus (this is written in energyhelpline info) but the flyer in the welcome back only talks about £50.

I spent 20 mins fruitlessly waiting for their helpline to be answered today but gave up. Am pleased that someone has extracted the admission this is an error and it is £100 - I suspect they are getting a lot of phone calls on this.
  • Amazing, isn't it? I joined EDF a few weeks ago via Topcashback and within 24 hours £85.60 tracked (I qualifed for 7% extra in November due to having a good month in October.) Got my father in law to go for this (I do all his utility stuff online as he's not net savvy), did it through Quidco (he's never had a TCB account, my fault really :o) on 29/11/10 and absolutely zilch  I am now reminded why I stopped using Quidco. Needless to say, I have now enrolled him in TCB. Is this Quidco non-tracking for this EDF deal a widespread thing??

Well I have had the entire year of 2010 with hundreds of transactions with QUIDCO - ALL TRACKED - because I know how the system works and yet when I did the EDF transaction NO TRACKING at all. Other transactions that day tracked. EDF - nothing.

I am dismayed because it was my biggest transaction of the year at £80. I have waited several days but still nothing. Really wish I had gone via TopCashBack as well and if I don't get the £80 via a query then that will be my signal to move to TopCashBack. Sorry and all that, but there are too many people not getting EDF tracked via Quidco and it makes me feel there is something wrong.
