You can download a P46 from HMRC, complete it and send it back so that you are taxed properly.

    Hi
Just a quick question to the people who have been collectors about tax. I am due to start a CCS (census coverage survey) role soon did you fill in a P46 when you started or did they just tax all your earnings at BR?

I went and got a p46 and sent it off about a week before I was due to start, I've been taxed properly. I would do it asap.

I applied for the census interviewer role but ended up being on the reserve list but i've planned to go travelling for a bit so i don't mind. It will be another lush role tho

Well, that's me finished my Census job! Dropped off all my completed questionnaires and matierials this afternoon and got my final pay yesterday.

Shame the Census doesn't happen more often - the money would come in handy!

I can't see anywhere where it says you are legally obliged to comply with the CCS people - so I take it I am perfectly within my rights to tell them to clear off?

You mean is it compulsory to take the survey? No, you can refuse, it's not like the census. Only 1% of households are targeted to take part anyway, so you're unlikely to have to tell them to do anything, they probably won't be round anyway!

We've been asked if we'd like to do 2 extra days, the Sat and Sun. They seem to think people will be in as it's the weekend, but in my experience I've had few doors answered at the weekend. Oh well, if they want to pay me to ring doorbells for 2 more days .....

I don't think we have enough work to do an extra two days. I wouldn't mind being employed longer though lol.
