Holiday pay is calculated at the "rolled up" rate of 12.07%

So for each hour worked you will get 12.07% holiday pay.

Example: Hourly rate = £7.41 (or whatever yours is, I know they vary)

Holiday pay = £0.84 per hour (ie 12.07% of 7.41)

Worked 69 hours over the employment period so £0.84 x 69 = £57.96 (for a 15 hour per week contract - you can work it out for yours).

It really doesn't matter when you do the hours, there's nothing to be gained by "bunching up" hours (unless you want to). Because of the nature of this job (casual, short term), it's not really that helpful to talk about holiday in terms of weeks.

Don't forget there is also the payment for returning all your stuff too! :)

Ok, I'm on 37 hours so I'm assuming I will get an extra weeks pay which will be 37 hours.

OK, here goes for 37 hours (including workings out, just like in skool maffs)

1 x 22 hour week (week 1, where we started on Wednesday)
    4 x 37 hour weeks

= 170 hours over the total Census employment period.

I'm assuming you're on £7.41 per hour... but please adjust accordingly...

    So 12.07% of £7.41 is £0.48.

170 x £0.48 = £142.80 for your holiday pay (before tax of course).

+ £75 for returning all your gear :)

if your on a 37 hour a week contract the bonus is 110, on a 25 hour bonus its 75 and for a 15 hour a week contract its 45 quid.

    https://censusjobs.co.uk/docs/images/579/6/1/Collector_JD_English.pdf

The thing about the bonus for returning the stuff is at the bottom of the 3rd page

We technically get nearly 2 days holiday pay if it was a normal 9-5 job per month, but as it is we should get it based on the hours done and I worked it out around 142 quid, which isn't too bad really (it will change if you are on a 15 or 25 hour contract, but still its not bad is it!)
    :T:T :beer: :beer::beer::beer: to the lil one :) :beer::beer::beer:

It's pretty good, so with out £110 bonus we should ebd up coming out with near enough a weeks wages.

Is anyone going to work as a CCS Interviewer? I just did the training today, and the work itself sounds fine, but I've been paired with a bit of a dim bulb. He can't work out how to fill in the progress report so I've had to offer to do it, because both of our figures go into it and I don't want mine to come out wrong because he can't do his sums.

I noticed in the handbook that we get a £10.40 payment at the end of the contract to cover phone call costs, not sure whether that applies to collectors as well though.

    Hi
Just a quick question to the people who have been collectors about tax. I am due to start a CCS (census coverage survey) role soon did you fill in a P46 when you started or did they just tax all your earnings at BR?
