take the area code and add @census.gov.uk
i.e - A12345@census.gov.uk
hey presto you have the co-ordinators direct email address, use this method to contact them yourself, good luck everybody hope this helps
Thank very much for this extremely useful information Tammy.:T0 -
The co-ordinators can't do anything without capitas or their managers say so, what's the point in people emailing them?
That assumes they are all rule following robots who do exactly what Capita tells them to do rather than real people who will also shortly be chucked on the unemployment scrapheap by Crapita and ONS.0 -

From Capita (after a long struggle writing to them and to @ons.gsi.gov.uk):
- We are not providing candidates with detailed feedback
- Candidates are invited to interview in merit order after Siftability, with the minimum being set at 40th percentile for the roles you applied for. Any candidates not achieving the minimum standard are advised that we will not progress their application
- If there were candidates who achieved a higher standard your application was kept in reserve
- Each role has a different applicant pool, and candidates who achieved a higher standard than you were invited to interview for this role
- For Data Protection reasons we are not able to provide details of other applicant scores
- If you remain unhappy with this response please visit the census jobs website where you will find the following information:
Civil Service Commissioners
The Office for National Statistics recruitment processes are underpinned by the principle of selection for appointment on merit on the basis of fair and open competition as outlined in the Civil Service Commissioners' Code which can be found at www.civilservicecommissioners.org.
If you feel your application has not been treated in accordance with the Code and you wish to make a complaint, you should contact 2011census.sourcing.c@ons.gsi.gov.uk in the first instance.
If you are not satisfied with the response you receive from the Agency, you can contact the Office of the Civil Service Commissioners.0 -

So are you intending to submit a complaint to the Civil Service Commissioners about Crapita's unwillingness to disclose your own personal score in Siftability and/or the passmark?
It sounds as though like me you got an email saying you "performed well" in Siftability but you did not get a telephone interview?
I strongly believe in my own case that this is because Capita ran adverts in the third week of March and first week of April for which they already had adequate reserves and that this was the reason why those of us who passed Siftability at this stage were not interviewed.0 -

They refused to give me any detailed feedback. They only gave me my Siftability scores; however, they said that they did so doing me a favour(!), as if they were not obliged by the law to disclose this kind of info to me.
For the record, my Siftability Scores were way above 40% but they cover their backs by saying that there were "others with higher scores", but how many or any comparison data "could not be released due to data protection!"
Basically, they do their best to fob you off. I don't wish to contact them ever again and I actually feel nauseous. I was very disappointed by the ONS's handling of my complaint as well (see my previous posts here).
Everyone who takes action, please keep us posted.0 -

They didn't give my my scores but just a deadlock letter suggesting my next port of call was the Civil Service Commissioners.
I am intending to fire off an email to Capita's CEO and other directors and directors of ONS plus a few journalists interested in the census's operation when I get a moment.
Although it is hard work to maintain the energy to complain to the Civil Service Commissioners it is the only way to cause Capita and ONS any serious hassle over the matter.0 -
you're not employed by Capita, you're employed by ONS, whose address is on your offer letter.
Just wanted to let anyone else know who is in the same boat as me...ie applying for jobs for when census collecting finishes: I confirmed with my area manager that we are in fact employed by Capita, so if anyone else was confused as to who to put down as their employer it is Capita.0 -
well that's odd. after i posted i thought i'd double check and rang the employees helpline, who confirmed we're employed by ONS. they gave the PAYE reference and address for tax return purposes as an ONS ref and address.0
