According to the Trainer I had, appointments should be being made for these situations ie. where you need perhaps need to go into a home to help out with questionnaire. Only a short time on doorstep or offer to return later
Yes, that's right - where people need a lot of help to complete the thing, then an appointment will be needed. My issue was with our coordinator's blanket instruction that we should not accept any completed questionnaires from anyone under any circumstances. What about if a frail old lady tries to give me her sealed envelope 'cos she doesn't think she can make the half-mile walk? I'm still waiting for the answer...
(In reality, I'll just take the damn thing and shove it in the postbox, regardless of what my manager has said)0 -

thank the lord for that! :rotfl: i was beginning to wonder how you'd got through siftability
flexibility, people, flexibilityno one's done this for 10 years so we're all kindof making it up as we go ......
speaking of going, off i jolly well. good luck, all.
edit:
NonGeographicalMan - please remove your thanks from this post. it's not wanted.0 -

Seriously though, the coordinators (there were 3 at the meeting) were really going into one about how important it was we took it on board that we were not to accept questionnaires! If we took any to give to them (for couriering, or whatever) they would not take them - and the 'tick' code was not to be used. They were absolutely adamant about it!0 -

The worst that can happen is that they sack you. Hardly a major deterrent with a job of this length and rate of pay.............
Anyhow the idea that you shouldn't take the form because it might create a corporate risk is pure Capita. The same kind of nonsense as the staff who work on their behalf for BBC Information in Belfast not being allowed to have any views or opinions themselves about the quality of the Beeb's programming.
I have been knocking on doors in elections and going in to the odd house of an elector with a major beef for a cup of tea for years all without any training and so far have never had a problem. The unfriendly people always slam the door in your face so you aren't going to make the mistake of going in to their house.....0 -

Maybe you have to accept that you didn't do as well in Siftability as you seem to think you did.
If so that's only because unlike you I'm not a good corporate robot who would blandly and without question follow all instructions from Capita even if they were to chop off my right arm or jump off a cliff.:p
As I have read that with Siftability you must not get less than the mid mark in any single question I suspect that I failed by suggesting the person who binned their questionnaires or fiddled their expenses would be reported to the company as well as the manager by myself. I think "you performed well" indicates your total mark in the test was high and probably higher than many of the people who never got below the mid mark in any one question. However you have not been recruited as you have been spotted by Capita as being a potentially dangerous radical who will not simply do as you told obediently and without question.
I am pleased to hear that some people who passed Siftability probably read up more than I did beforehand on the answers Capita wanted to the test so despite passing it are still the kind of people with enough spirit to ignore mindless Capita instructions aimed only at back covering such as not collecting any of the Questionnaires yourself. Capita does not care that this is inconvenient for those being surveyed. They only care about minimising their risk of being involved in a high level complaint if a questionnaire or many questionnaires accepted by a particular collector go missing.
Also if Capita have nothing to hide then why won't they give you the score that you got in the test;)0 -

Aww, I'm not a corporate robot, nor will I cut off my nose to spite my face, which is what you seem to have done. The example answer that you gave 'indicates' that you don't have an understanding of, or experience in, line management. There's less of a conspiracy going on here, more of an objective testing for suitability.0 -
Just been reading the last few posts , im working as a collector and nothing has been said to us about not collecting completed forms, i have helped 2 people fill them in and then posted them myself.
Can anyone tell me what they have been told about the first visits ? we were all given our first batches of addresses to visit and went on our way, by the second day i was doing 2nd visits but have now been told that we should only visit each address once then hand the sheets back in. Is this how others are working ?WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -

I have lots of experience of it and my experience is that I have no time at all for those who just do or say whatever they think will win them their next promotion.
The fact that you take so much pleasure at my non selection is typical of the corporate yes person personality type.0 -

Have you met anyone yet who has said they have not completed their census questionnaire as a protest at not being offered a job or even a telephone interview by Crapita?0
