Just been reading the last few posts , im working as a collector and nothing has been said to us about not collecting completed forms, i have helped 2 people fill them in and then posted them myself.
Can anyone tell me what they have been told about the first visits ? we were all given our first batches of addresses to visit and went on our way, by the second day i was doing 2nd visits but have now been told that we should only visit each address once then hand the sheets back in. Is this how others are working ?

seems to be a bit of variation how each coordinator is doing things! :rotfl:but don't see that as an issue, each area can organise things as they want. i'm gobsmacked you managed to do a first visit to every address in under 2 days!

i've not been told either not to collect forms or to only visit once. today i handed back all sheets which have either a Q or an X so my coordinator can update the QT, but kept all the others and have made some repeat visits to Ns, though i've not revisited Ps or Ws as i thought it's too soon to do that.

I have lots of experience of it and my experience is that I have no time at all for those who just do or say whatever they think will win them their next promotion.

The fact that you take so much pleasure at my non selection is typical of the corporate yes person personality type.

Not the sort of thing I take pleasure in.
Simple fact, my 'attitude' got me the job, yours didn't :)

BTW I'm self employed, far removed from a corporate type ;)

    What a load of nonsense.

I expect that you being LittleMissPerfect applied five months ago so eventually after the slow Capita machine had ground away for long enough they found you a poorly paid job you could do (whilst strictly following their instructions) for a few weeks.

Whereas I on the other hand being MrLastMinute probably applied for jobs that never in reality existed but were only in fact cynical Capita attempts to keep their reserve list topped up in case they had a larger number of no shows than expected in the advertised areas.

This will only be in any way shown up or revealed by an appropriate FOI to the ONS and/or complaint to the Civil Service Commissioners.

Have you met anyone yet who has said they have not completed their census questionnaire as a protest at not being offered a job or even a telephone interview by Crapita?

I cant divulge such information ;)

I thought it was only individual answers to census questions and not peripheral matters related to the census collection process that were confidential.

Yes certainly iss a lot of variation looking further through here ! Ive not seen or heard of update sheets until i read about thyem on here but then again my coordinator says hes not sure how to pout stuff on the system yet so that might explain that one, im pretty sure he is wrong about the 1 visit thing and can see a pile up of work if the system is not updated soon
I handed all my sheets back today from my first batch of 165 visits and have been given a new set of houses that he sayss should ccover my weeks hours.

From what I can ascertain, each area manager & their coordinators seem to be taking the rules and bending them to fit their own design.

I started as an early collector 3 weeks ago and from the start I've been encouaged to get questionnaires from people, whether I've helped them fill it out or not. They always go sraight in the first post box I come across. As for first and second visits, we were advised to go back as many times as possible each week within the allocted hours for the district. Go by what your own coordinator says though because they're the ones you have to answer to.
If you worry, you die..and if you don't worry, you die... so why worry?! :D
