What is actually on the extranet website? My co-ordinator hasn't given me the password for it and hasn't told me anything about it...am I missing out on something important here?

you should ask your coordinator - please remember the confidentiality undertaking.

If you do not think your coordinator is supporting you correctly or sufficiently, speak to your area manager.

Can I just say - EVERYONE ie all census collectors should be getting DAILY spreadsheets from their co-ordinator, in order to cross addresses off their lists. Mine have been coming through since Thursday, and I look forward to them as it means less work for me. If not it's making extra and unnecessary work for the collectors.

Don't even know who the area manager is - not been given any name or contact details! :(

Bah, I want froggy27 as my coordinator!

I just popped back to see how those that actually ended up accepting the collector role were getting on.

I do feel sorry for those co-ordinators who are short of staff, but it is hardly surprising the way some of us were treated. I'm really glad that I said no, when they did finally offer me a job. Even though I turned down the job offer, my "instruction booklet" still arrived - on 7th or 8th of April.

ah, but only if there's any to cross off :rotfl:

i did query why i'd only got 2, and that was because there were only 2 to be got! :p

incidentally, has anyone actually cajoled a punter to complete the form while u wait? we are required to try that, but i've not been doing so. if they say they'll do it i've just moved on.

Update...going positively purple through holding my breath  How can they get the recruitment process in such chaos when they have such a long lead time to the census date. You feel your life is on hold and it affects the family routine as well. I wish I had put my name down for counting votes on May 5th instead. I have given up so many things to accomodate Capita and it would be interesting to know how many others are still waiting.
    Olias, your pictures were great!

I'm with you Purse String. I've been chasing them up since Wednesday. How hard can it be to put me in touch with my co-ordinator - unless I haven't got one in my area.:mad:

Wouldn't be much point in waiting for them to do it - we were given strict instructions by our coordinator that, contrary to the original training, under no circumstances were we to collect completed forms - we had to tell people to post it themselves or do it online.

In that case you need to take a proactive approach and contact HR.

I don't see what asking what the extranet is has to do with confidentiality.

I've had about 8 back so far and I've posted all of them and ticked box D. I haven't been told not to do this.

I'm on a 15 hour contract and was given two workloads to do, with "6 hours" in pencil on the front of each one. It took me 9 hours on Saturday to do one sweep of both workloads and I did a 2nd sweep of one workload and half of another yesterday for 6 hours. I don't know what the "6 hours" on each one means, am I only supposed to work for 12 hours and get paid for 15?!

I had a good first weekend, although I'm so tired today, glad I'm off work (my proper job), the weather made it better, don't know how you're supposed to do it if it's raining. I'm just imagining being on the beach in Turkey on 3rd June with all my spending money earned from census collecting :D
