What daily lists do you mean? I've only been issued one set of paperwork for each of my areas...my co-ordinator hasn't had them back off me and hasn't given me any updated lists?
first78, you're not alone. Everyone keeps going on about these mysterious daily lists (I bumped into another collector today who has a different coordinator and she mentioned them) but I haven't seen anything on a daily basis. Just been given one set of paperwork and been told to get on with it until we meet again in a week's time...0 -

Thanks Piggsy....nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't have daily lists!!0 -
Hi,
I'm interested to hear that some people are getting daily updates of new forms received.
I had assumed this would be the case and was suprised when my co-ordinator said we only get weekly updated printout sheets.
I've had loads of people saying they sent their form in last Monday etc. On the plus side, I get paid to visit lots of properties and make my weekly hours targets. On the down side, I feel a right plonker as it appears the census people are really un-organised!:rotfl:
By the way, has anyone met with their co-ordinator out "on the patch"? I thought they were meant to check you are doing things correctly.
I agree that it should be law to put house names / numbers by their front doors. Also, farms that are down 3 miles of gravel tracks should put their farm name at the start of said gravel track. I've even been given one address that is only accesible by a 15 minute walk along paths in fields, the driveway gate is always locked (told by nearest neighbour)!
By the way, I had to report to nextdoor neighbours that someone still had a milk bottle on the doorstep this afternoon at 3pm! I was told that it was ok, that's when the milkman delivers on Sundays!
On the plus side, I saw a deer, a fox and a sow and 6 little piglets trotting down various country lanes today, and so many new lambs, beautiful.
Best of luck to all,

sounds like there's a variety of experiences here! :rotfl:
first78 - if you've not contacted every household yet then i don't see why you think there's a shortfall of things to do. you revisit and revisit, varying the time of each visit if you can, till you've contacted them all. also, my coordinator hasn't handed out all EDs yet, only the ones with the lowest rates of returns. makes sense, as there's not much point chasing up in the high return areas at the moment. so if you tell your coordinator you're feeling underutilised s/he might have some other EDs that need doing.
i've rcvd 2 updates from my coordinator so far, one on fri pm and one this morning. i've met with her twice in the field to replenish supplies of dummy forms, fl 01s and h1s, though we still don't have any i1s or hc1s  luckily i've still not had occasion to need either. also she wanted to see a potential problem area, and agreed with me it was problematical!
best enjoy the weather while we can - all change on weds i believe.0 -
Just read few pages as I haven't had time to even come on MSE..I'm a coordinator and the last few days have been really busy...at the moment I'm short of collectors
Re Daily updates. I email my collectors every morning with a list of receipted questionnaires so they can delete the address from their list. i also phone or text them every evening to check all has gone well.
Re.Tuesdays. I have told my team not to work on Tuesday as this will be used to update the system. i will meet them tonight at 8pm to collect their work, spend all day tomorrow updating and will give them a new workload on Weds. I have asked them to book any return visits (to help people) on Tuesdays...
So far all my collectors have said that people have been pleasant except one or two but no problems...
Hope the weather doesn't get cold and wet though....A friend is a present which you give yourself (R.Stevenson)

froggy27, you sound like a really proactive and dedicated co-ordinator. I wish we were in the same area as I'd like to be on your team. However, I'm still waiting for my co-ordinator to contact me. Looks like another day on the phone to the helpline. Ho hum.0

I agree, Froggy27 you sound like the sort of co-ordinator I would like to have!! I've had no updates at all so far!!0 -
Update...going positively purple through holding my breath  How can they get the recruitment process in such chaos when they have such a long lead time to the census date. You feel your life is on hold and it affects the family routine as well. I wish I had put my name down for counting votes on May 5th instead. I have given up so many things to accomodate Capita and it would be interesting to know how many others are still waiting.
Olias, your pictures were great!0 -
