sounds like your coordinator is handing things out in dribs and drabs. i'd best not go into specifics, but i was given 3 Eds last Weds, and i believe the others in my area were given similar size workloads, and suffice to say there's no way i could've done a first pass through them in under 2 days! :eek:0 -
As for first and second visits, we were advised to go back as many times as possible each week within the allocted hours for the district.
That sounds highly inefficient as long suffering electoral canvassing experience shows that some householders are never ever at home (for instance those living overseas or owning the place as a second home etc) or at least especially not during the hours during which you can door knock (also London commuters etc are a similar problem).
If ONS and Capita weren't wanting to make this process as expensive and labour intensive as possible (as in fact seems to be the objective) then they would have sent out a reminder with another questionnaire to non responders at the beginning of last week then another one with another questionnaire at the end of this week and then another one on about 27th April. Only if people had not responded after all of that would it surely be worth the high cost activity of visiting on foot.
At the moment you are spending a lot of time chasing people who would clearly have responded to a simple postal reminder.
Also given the population's general eternal optimism I'm sure that if they had offered an entry in a competition for a free sports car or round the world cruise for responding online that their return rate would have been far, far higher.....0 -

I'm sure that a brainless wage puppet wouldn't be capable of such a quick witted reply.:p:D:rotfl:0 -
Does anyone know if they will reimburse car parking expenses for classroom training please? I have a two day residential training course on Wednesday in Exeter (80 miles away) and the hotel has no parking and suggests using the nearby NCP but for two days it will cost about £20. I have emailed them to ask but doubt they'll reply in time and if they won't reimburse then I'd be better off getting the train rather than driving.
Yes they do.0 -
Does anyone know if we're actually supposed to use the highlighter pen for anything in particular? I'm trying to tidy up my paperwork and double check I've done everything right before my co-ordinator wants to see it!
Our co-ordinator also hasn't mentioned anything about collecting our sheets in...so far I've had 4 areas to work in and I've done pretty much done them all so I don't know how I'm supposed to fill my 37 hours a week...if I put my mind to it I could do all 4 areas in 8-10 hours.
i've been told to use my highlighter to highlight the bar code once i've been told the form has been sent in, and have been using the highlighter to highlight the bottom corner of the section so i know which have said they have sent it in/going to send it in or the house is derelict:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

that makes sense, faster for the coordinator to see which need updating on the QT.
it's not so much fun doing this in the cold0 -

What happens next after a refusal form is issued?
A rude note in the post from ONS threatening possible legal action etc if the form is not completed and returned in the next few weeks?0
