  • Hi everyone, especially Sue UU, well done to you all for your efforts :D

I thought I might already be a member of this challenge but I cant find my name so I thought I'd request to join please.

I am doing a bit of a mixture of saving £2 coins, loose change and quiz winnings (not very often) all in a sealed pot and the aim is to get enough spending money for a cruise we are off on next March (to celebrate my big 4-0!)

My tin says if I fill it with £2 coins I will have £1000...!!!! Anyway, there're some notes in there now so I won't get that many £2 coins in but I wonder how much I can save :)

I estimate there to be about £220 in there at the moment (hubby had a good win on the rollover question at the quiz so we won £300 split between us and another couple) so that went in, and quite a lot of £2's. I also cashed in all my loose change in one of those coin stars this week and I had £61.40 so I put £40 of it into the sealed pot. I can't wait to open it and it's only June :D

A single 1p in to the work tin today, was walking home too fast to try spotting road kill in the rain this evening!

Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how the challenge works. NB. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much. NB. Pots are emptied on 1st December 2011, thank you.

BTW moremoneythansense pleasedon't usecoin stars machines as they don't do it without making a profit! Take it to banks/building societies/local shops and make sure you get all you save. Well done on your DH's win and save hard for that cruise....oooh what a blissful thought. :j

Evening folks, just a quick visit whilst chatting to the quitting smoking folk across the way and thought I'd say a quick "Hi". :D

Excellent news on your roadkill, hotspur_pam. You're out to do your level best for sure. Don't worry too much though, if you hadn't had it....someone else would, and thee's little point in no-one collecting it. Simply bend and pick it up as thou you yourself had dropped it, then walk on and grin afterwards!!! ;)

Hi Tina and good to see you. It's so lovely to read about your hubby contributing so willlngly, they'll all be thankful you started it come Christmas. Well done with having it there for your DS's Birthday

Hi Observer, I'd seen evidence of you 'being here' and wondered when you were going to come and say hello, good to see you.:) Good saving with the 10er which I guess slithered into the pot, well, it doesn't ccerrchhinngg but dropped is too unceremoious, so slithered...til we think of a better one! Is it me that's potty or......! :rotfl: You're off again now Observer so do try and continue, all the best.

Hi scuba and remember 1p's better than no p.

DH & I had a really lovely weekend thanks, blue_eyed_girl, I hope you did too. :)

Right, night night everyone and sleep well.

It's what we do best for our mums jakes-mum...:rotfl:...mine used to watch us with one eye sqinted and the other closed - she knew something was going to happen, it was just a case of when :D. Your lucky he's not into building homeade ramps, swings (out of rope) etc....the list goes on jakes-mum (but I don't want to give him ideas to scare you with :rotfl:). Glad he's okay for you though :T.

Ummm this is the child who insisted on his first skateboard at 4 years of age after watching his 14 year old skater mad cousin on his. He then promptly tried to stamp on the end to make it flip up and catch it and smacked himself in the bottom lip. Much blood and tears later he still hadnt learnt his lesson and at 10 he's even worse! :rotfl:

Yes we have ahd homemade ramps, if we had a tree no doubt he would find a bit of rope to tie as a swing, as it is we have found him up numerous trees (some with the lowest branches a good 2 mtrs from the ground! so god knows how he got up there!!) Honestly my chill lvls would give Valium a run for its money as he is terrible for injuries and just plain doing anything dangerous! :rotfl:
