Say nowt ddm and hope for the best, not much else you can do. Fingers crossed for you. Failing that.....use it for somebody's Christmas present!!
Ah..Decluttering, I see what you mean. I didn't realise it was in a can. Why not put notes somewhere more accessible, but still try and seal it but in a way that if you need to, you can get into it. Best to be on the safe side.

If they did introduce a new style note you might want to only save that style, but since they don't seem to have any intention of doing this currently (apart from the £50 note which I doubt you'll be saving) it's unlikely to happen fast enough for it to be a problem.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Hi SueUU :hello:,
having played a major role in helping me to stop smoking :A I am now entrusting you with helping me to save for christmas.
No pressure then
I really need this thread - have been wondering why on earth I didnt save up for christmas this year
Not aiming for a specific amount, but hope to achieve about £350.
I already have £30 saved up in £2 coins & have already pledged to keep going with that collection until the end of next year so will just add any extra coinage & notes to the pot as well.

Also for the closing date try:
"Remember, remember pot ends 1st December"
AND for the next one:
"Remember, remember pot starts 2nd December"
I'm almost like Keats..Wordsworth and the like.... I missed me vocation and am off to bed before they take me away. :rotfl:
With my memory it would be something more like " Remember, remember there's something to remember in December, or was it November?" :rotfl:sparky0107 wrote: »

Thanks Sparky, it's good to be back. Glad to see you're still here with Sue working as a team to keep us all in line. :Tfrasersmum123 wrote: ȣ7.00 into my pot today - have spent the afternoon wrapping pressies and now I have loads of paper cuts
Papers cuts from christmas wrapping paper? You must be using the posh stuff.
I had another quote which hasn't quoted and was really important so I'll go back and find it again.

Sorry everybody for hijacking the thread, but I've seen so many posts that I just have to reply to.Doingmybest2bgoodhurrah wrote: »Hello
I went into town today & had a bit of a mooch round for a suitable pot for this challenge. Everything I liked was silly money , so I went to afew charity shops but it appeared everyone had got there before me!
So, when I got home & actually defrosted, I raked out a humungous glass jar (originally contained my Dad's home made pickled onions). My OH has cut a slot in the lid for me with one of his contraptions in the inner sanctum ( the shed!) & gaffer taped the lid on firmly Harry Houdini style. I then spent a pleasant afternoon sticking pictures & photographs all over it so that I can't see the contents. The pictures are all things to make me smile each time I feed the jar.
Don't know why I told you all that; you're probably wondering the same!! Good luck everyone x
Thanks DMB2BGH (that took a bit of doing, lol) for sharing your news, I for one am pleased you did as, a) I didn't know how to spell 'humungous', in fact a few weeks ago I tried to find it in the dictionary and couldn't because obviously I couldn't spell it. And b) I didn't know that Houdini's first name was Harry (Harold).
So thanks for those tid-bits.
This thread truly is the fountain of knowledge.
