Of course you can join us claireylulu! A warm welcome to the thread and lovely to have you with us.
Have fun saving now and in 2011. You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much.
claireylulu, keep coming to the thread regularly, you'd be surprised how much it motivates us all to saving far better. Don't forget ...any amount of change - put into your pot - it only fritters away otherwise. All best wishes for a much better year.
Lovely to see you back tinah, have you put your target on SPC 3 thread ye? ..or was it you that did last night?
Never mind, Doingmybest, at least the jar gave you a very novel idea.

An excellent beginning, Palema! :j Darn shame about needing the bus thoughmischiefbec wrote:Thanks for that! We have set ourselves a target of £300 ready for next Christmas and think our number is a good omen... 1072, My birthday is the 10th and the house I grew up in (where my parents still live) is number 72!
Hi Bec, now that HAS to be a good omen for you, very uncanny though. I love the sound of your decorated pot, that'll give you something to save towards the "Make £10 a day challenge". Good job I came over there yesterday with the link then! It's also given me ideas too though. BTW, your Target is updated to £300.
WOW.....teeni...is this ever your lucky, lucky day. Congratulations :T to you - commiserations to the loser. Though maybe it was a tip to a poor soul!
That's it FF, keep stashing it away gently.
......you too, frasersmum, a lovely sum.
Hows about this then ......I've finally got some CASH!!! :j I thought DH had the tinklings of some cash in his pocket, so vaguely asked if he had any "No" says he. I waited til he went for his shower last night and scrabbled out £1.57 which is now in the POT!!!!! :j:jThat'll teach him!

Quick question for any sealed potters who put banknotes in their pot - have you ever had any problems with them being withdrawn from circulation?
I have a £5 note that, at the end of the week would usually be paid into my bank on Saturday morning but due to bad weather, I've not been able to get to the bank. So in the situation of this banknote being withdrawn between now and next December, am I likely to encounter any problems with getting it paid into my account?
Also found £1.15 today in one of my old unofficial random change areas (I had a habit of cleariing out a purse full of change and putting the change in strange places). I thought I'd cleared them all out but clearly not! So after some deliberation, I have decided that although I was saving it before the challenge began, I have found it after the challenge began and therefore it belongs in the pot!Thank you competition posters!

Don't be too concerned Decluttering, we usually get wind of any that are being taken out of circulation and have a root around for them then. Sparky's usually pretty hot on that so don't let it worry you. However, if it bothers you with the £5, then change it and put yourr mind at rest.

Thanks Sue, I think what I'll do is I'll take a note of what the note is before I put it in so I don't have to get the can opener out unnecessarilyThank you competition posters!

579 Kerfuffle ......Target...(she'll surprise us!) [/QUOTE]
Looking at this year's figure and looking back at last year's figure they're actually very similar ( though one is in pounds sterling and one is in dollars) and there's not much between them. So anything more than these will be a surprise to me too! :rotfl:0
