Sorry everybody for hijacking the thread, but I've seen so many posts that I just have to reply to.
Thanks DMB2BGH (that took a bit of doing, lol) for sharing your news, I for one am pleased you did as, a) I didn't know how to spell 'humungous', in fact a few weeks ago I tried to find it in the dictionary and couldn't because obviously I couldn't spell it. And b) I didn't know that Houdini's first name was Harry (Harold).
So thanks for those tid-bits.
This thread truly is the fountain of knowledge.
Toodles
Kerfuffle - Thanks for your kind post! I'm not sure if I spelt "humungous" correctly or not now that you mention it, I just typed it without thinking about it so it could be totally wrong! In any case, my pot is daaaaaaaaaaamn big! ( Hope I manage to fill it, he! he!).
I know what you mean about dictionaries, they're no good unless you can spell the word in the first place!
As for Harry Houdini, you will see from my location that I am stuck in a 1970's time warp..... I remember watching a film about him with my Nan in the 70's, when I was an anklebiter, & seem to recall that Harry was his first name. Again, I could very well be mistaken, I usually am! x0 -
Hi there nickynoo08, I'll answer you first for obvious reasons - as I can't find you anywhere on the list of members on Page 1. Please have a look through yourself to check but I've been through it twice, and no luck.
If I'm right and you can't find your name either - then I'd imagine you'd you like to join us - yes?
Have a look through first anyway, I may just be missing something - no comments you lot!!!
Thanks nickynoo08, we'll soon get you sorted.

For whoever was asking about out-of-circulation notes...
I used to work for a bank and they would accept "old" notes over the counter and send them back to the issuing bank (I live in Scotland so we had Bank of Scotland, England, RBS and Clydesdale notes to contend with, as well as some from the Northern Irish banks!!) I once helped someone count money dating from the 1970s that they had found in the house of a deceased relative, and we took the notes no problem. It shouldn't be an issue...0 -
