Groceries deliveries with the weather, good and bad

Currently still waiting on our 7-9pm delivery from Goole store.
No notification that it's cancelled and online shows "delivered" which they normally show when it's in the van and enroute.
Can anybody please confirm what the status online usually shows if it's cancelled?0 -
And now, after a 40 minute wait on their "national rate" number I'm advised that they've cancelled without letting me know - despite the promise on their website that they will contact any customers who's deliveries are cancelled.
If the weather was bad enough here that the roads are not passable (as it was earlier in the week) I could understand this - however the roads between here and the store are absolutely fine.
One very unhappy, hungry bunny!!:mad::mad:0 -
I managed to get through to Tesco earlier and they told me that the orders become automatically classed as delivered as soon as it passes the slot time. I didn't receive it as it was cancelled and the advisor had said that if Tesco were to charge me, it would soon be refunded within 3-5 days.
The next slot for Tesco is on Wednesday and I cannot wait until then. I have ordered mine through Asda and it should *hopefully* arrive on Monday.Competition Wins:

goodness after reading some of these replies i really dont have much hope for my tesco order, and evenm if it does turn up it seems that most of the goods wil be oos or subbed

I'd have settled for Monday as a redelivery, even Wednesday - I was offered a week on Monday!!

Guess it means I'm walking the 5 miles into our nearest small town tomorrow to get something for us to eat.0 -
Great. Tesco have gone and cancelled my second order now, other deliveries vans etc are fine driving round here. It hasn't snowed in a few days!0

Here in Nottingham got a call from Sainsbury's at 8:30 this morning to say my delivery is cancelled (scheduled for 11-12 a.m.).
We did have loads of snow yesterday, but there has been plenty of other traffic about on my street so far this morning, and UPS are on schedule to make a delivery to us.
I understand, but I'm a bit annoyed. Conditions today much better than yesterday, and I really think they should try to offer another time (tomorrow?) at the time they ring to tell you they can't deliver.
I'm disabled, so can't do slippy pavements and so on. Fortunately, I'm not desperate for these things, but could have been.
I'm re-ordering for tomorrow, let's see what happens.
And so, surprise surprise, my order cancelled again this morning.
Apparently they are only delivering "local to the store", because vans are getting stuck on ungritted side roads . But we are on a main road which is clear (bus services running here), and my son's guitar teacher has just arrived here from Derby, with no real difficulties.
There is a sainsbury's store closer to us. I asked if our order could be transferred to that store? No.
I'm lucky. My OH is fit and healthy, and has gone off now with my list to do the shopping (altho' he does sooo much for us, I was trying to save him that bother).
But there are plenty of older folk or disabled people who don't have anyone to fall back on if these services fail (my mum for example, who lives 100 miles away from us).
Customer service seems to be completely unimportant to sainsbury's at the moment. If they can't even try to commit to delivering, there is no point in using them any more. We shall take our custom elsewhere.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

Had 2nd Sainsbury's order cancelled today (was due 4-5pm). Have rebooked for Monday & have a slot reserved for Wednesday (when I placed my original order, I reserved a couple of future slots just incase they cancelled. Thank god I did as the next available slot is Thursday). Spent 30 minutes on hold on the phone. Finally got through & was offered free delivery (which they added). However, as soon as I amended the order, the free delivery disappeared. Arrrggh, going to have to call up again now!
On another note, some of the prices have gone up , eg a cauliflower today would have cost 76p, whereas one on Monday is going to cost 99p!!0 -
Well after the fiasco with asda i tried tesco and despite the slight price difference i'll be shopping with them from now on! Not only did they turn up, but they were friendly too.:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0

We got an automated telephone message from Tesco to say "sorry we are experiencing delays with online orders". That happened about 4 hours after we had taken delivery of our goodies. (Van managed to negotiate an icy cul-de sac)0
