As I'm snowed in here in North Yorkshire I decided to place an online order with Tesco (the only supermarket which delivers to my area). The first available delivery slot they have is the 8th December

The things is, being a moneysaver, I automatically looked at all the offers first and started adding those to my basket. A message popped up saying that all of those offers finished on the 7th and I would need to change my delivery slot to an earlier date. I had chosen the earliest available so it seems a pretty stupid system.
I gave up in the end and I'll just have to wait until I can get out, whenever that may be. Hopefully before the 8th December.0 -
I find it amazing that on the one hand we have a couple of discussions elsewhere in which people are saying they cannot possibly get to work because of snow/inability to drive/too far etc etc etc and that therefore they will stay home/keep warm/work from home/have a duvet day...
And yet we somehow expect everyone else that might provide a service to us to have been bestowed with mystical powers such that they CAN get to work and can go on operating 100% normally and if they dont,we get miffed about it !Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Tesco sent me a text about 5 hours before my delivery time saying they've cancelled and I need to reorder. Knew that there's no way on earth they could deliver here atm but good of them to text me anyway!0

My 9-11pm Tesco slot came at 22:20 last night, it was snowing, about half inch on the ground, they phoned him whilst he was getting the stuff out the van to make sure he was OK and check his route was ending, which was nice.
They didn't forget anything this time either!
This morning I'm snowed in though, been told not to go to work by the boss.Trev. Having an out-of-money experience!
C'MON! Let's get this debt sorted!!0 -
Received a voicemail from Tesco this morning, my 8-10PM delivery is cancelled tonight. Rang the number to reschedule and they can't copy over the order so I have to reorder myself on the website. Next delivery slot is Wednesday 8th

Asda were unable to deliver my order on Tuesday, but the system has changed from last year, and they arranged for the shopping to be picked and someone could pick it up for me which was great! We didn't have that option last year, and as money is so tight at his time of year it was a real struggle, especially having no local shop as such, and having to wait nearly a week to get the money back in our account. Fair enough, it's not convenient, and people may struggle because of it, but they're dealing with it as best they can.Unfortunately,
MONEY makes the world go round.
Bah Humbug!!!!

Just to let you know, those of you who can't get a delivery slot anytime soon could always try the milkman (google milkandmore) - I get bread, eggs, juice, cheese, bacon and all sorts, and you can book online up until 9pm the night before.0
