  • And this is exactly why I never keep more than the minimum in any of these points sites - I always cash out asap because they always end up either shifting the goalposts or going bust entirely without warning and stiffing you of all your hard-earned points

Previously I'd hung on for the £20 rewards but, thankfully, as collecting points had become so rare I decided to get a £10 Arcadia voucher a few weeks ago. Still leaves me with 700-ish points down the drain, but not anywhere near as bad as some. Grr!

I've sent them a message aswell, I asked them to either pay me in an Amazon gift voucher to the value (£17.46)
    or send it via Paypall

I'd been a member of pigsback just a a few weeks short of 4 years:(

    £18.28 up the shoot.

    Complaint about to be sent.

They've always been robbin' dogs. Now they're robbin' bar stewards.

OK, my complaint went like this:

So you've treated your Pigsback members with the total contempt we have seen in the past! The £18.28 I had been hoping eventually to convert into a £20 Amazon voucher has now been reduced to meaningless Monopoly money, as I shall surely never want or need any of the so-called Megadeals. I have been a member of Groupon for a couple of years but have never bought a darn thing. You may have noticed that Groupon had a few financial problems of their own recently!

Well, OK. Treat your members badly and lose them. Where will that leave you?

So, so sorry it has come to this. I was in it from the beginning, before the UK site was officially launched. I had some good moments, winning competitions occasionally, and enjoying the camaraderie that your site provoked.

What a terrible shame. "You get more back with Pigsback" is just a joke. Because now, I get NOTHING back with Pigsback!

What the hell? We can't even earn more credit, can we? So what exactly is the point of Megadeals if we can't build up more balance to actually buy the bloody deals with in the first place?

If there were still daily clicks then I'd be less bothered because I'd just carry on saving up my balance and hope that a deal came up at some point that was of interest (I'm quite happy with the amount of body hair that I have at the moment thanks very much!). But this is just completely !!!!ing stupid.

Edit: oh sorry, I see it now. Yes I can earn more balance by buying deals I don't want, or spamming my friends to buy deals that they don't want, so I end up bald and friendless.

I was FOURTEEN POINTS away from a £10 voucher.
  • "Dear Sir/Madam,

I am extremely disappointed to say the least that you have changed your site in this manner.

My credit is now worthless as there is not a single deal in my area that I can afford with my balance - never mind the fact that none of these deals are of interest to me anyway.

Due to this, I politely request that you pay me the £9.95 balance of my account in cash instead. I am happy to accept Paypal, BACS or cheque, please let me know which one of these options you will be paying me by and I will supply you with my details.

If you refuse to accept any of these options, then I trust that you will be happy to add the additional 5p to my balance and send me the £10 HMV voucher I was about to order from you before you downgraded your site."

I've sent my two pence worth via snail mail:

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Re: MEGADEALS by Pigsback

I am, quite frankly, DISGUSTED with the way that the Pigsback site has suddenly changed with no warning to its members. I am not alone in my opinion, it would appear that these changes are now being discussed on the various consumer forums and blogs which I read and contribute to.

The very least that Pigsback members deserved was adequate notification of the changes to the site, including the changes to the points system, to enable them to spend any points that they had accrued should they not wish to participate in the new scheme.

My current balance is £11.67 and I had been previously hoping to collect £20 worth of points for a Marks & Spencer voucher. Had I been made aware of the changes, I would have redeemed my current balance for a £10 voucher in good time. The balance is currently WORTHLESS as the deals offered cost more than this, plus there is nothing in the least bit useful on offer anyhow. This also means that I have no chance of accruing any further points.

In resolution, I request that the full balance of £11.67 be paid to me via PayPal, cheque or BACS. Please advise which method is suitable and I will supply the relevant details.

Please be aware that I will have no hesitation to share any further dissatisfaction with the online community as the sudden change in your policy strongly suggests that Pigsback are attempting to avoid paying their members.

No serious MD can surely think that the new Pigsh*t formulae is going to work. It would have been far more honest to call in the Insolvency experts and put it to sleep, rather than stagger on for a while like this. It was good in the early years, but successive "rearrangements" have whittled down its core members to the insane or those who should have gone to Specsavers to have their rose colured glasses surgically removed.
Its like waking up and finding the lodger who hasn't paid the rent for months doing a midnight flit and leaving some worthless Confederate money on the table.
No reputable company would act like this , although i cannot see how those members who have been swizzed have a legal trotter to stand on.

Does anyone know what's happening to people who were waiting for their vouchers to arrive?

    Thanks

Oh well, I've sent them a message via their "contact us" bit on the site. Not that I exepct to hear a peep out of them, but at least I've added my voice to the chorus of dis-satisfaction with the underhanded way this has been handled.

    *********************************

Well this is nice, isn't it? Not a word of warning as to how this rubbish new system was going to work. Not a word of warning to your loyal members that they would have their accumulated money stolen from them - for that, in my opinion, is just what you have done. I had enough points to exchange for a £10 voucher - which I could choose to spend as I please. Instead I am now stuck with £12.57 worth of "savings" on stuff I have absolutely no interest in.

Can you point out to me exactly how this is a good thing.

I have no interest in MegaDeals and would therefore request that you forward MY money that I EARNED over the years and that you have taken from me. I am prepared to forego the £2.57 difference between the cost of a £10 voucher and the balance on this new account (which I didn't sign up for).

I will accept this either in the form of a leisure voucher, or alternatively via BACS or cheque.

I trust I will receive more than a cursory standard response to this.
