LOL lets hope your right
I dont even have a chain, sellers emigrating, my buyers 2nd home for there son. I dread what it could have been if it was a long chain.angel1976 wrote:Poppycat, I know what you mean about not doing this ever again! That was what I said before the exchange happened. Like I said fairly early on, housebuying must be like childbirth, you forget the pain right after it happens and I am happy to say that is true (the housebuying bit, not the childbirth bit!). We exchanged a week and a half ago and I can't remember why I was so stressed in the first place! :rotfl:

I know!! I cant actually believe this at the moment. I dont know who to blame (not me :A ) so far my solicitors look like they might just win the booby-prize, but then the housing association come along and sweep the board, by finally doing something they should have done 2 weeks ago and charged me 117 for. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Well finally after a week of empty promises our buyer has received their contract today, will sign and send it back by special delivery today. Technically we could exchange tomorrow but given how slow their solicitor is it's likely to be next week.
We are almost there but I'm not counting my chickens before they have hatched.0 -
Hope it goes well for you lewolf, fingers crossed.0

Hello to all of you,
I have been reading this thread obsessively for about a month now, as I started this process all the way back in July.
First, I had the mortgage broker from hell - applied for mortgage through him, receive letter from nationwide but some of my details are wrong, informed him and them and that was eventually sorted, then mortgage was refused (can't help thinking the wrong details may have made them overly suspicious, as the reason they gave for the refusal was that I have never had credit)
Then, my boss was being a real cow and wouldn't let me have even an afternoon off to go to the bank myself to arrange a mortgage
Finally managed to get a Saturday appointment at Abbey in November - by then the proposed exchange date had gone!
Then things started to look a bit better, received mortgage offer from Abbey, and solicitor has been on the ball. I was invited in to sign contracts yesterday, this was fine, and he has said that at a push I may be able to complete on the 21st - Am I, and is he, being stupidly optimistic - especially since contracts have not even been exchanged as yet?!?0
