Welcome wigglygiggly. When we were FTB, getting the mortgage approved was certainly the most nerve-racking bit. Even if you think its going to be OK, you never believe it until you see it on the letter. I hope yours comes through OK soon.0

wiggly giggley, hello - surveyors report, mortgage offer and result of the standard searches are all fun.
supposed to have exhchanged every day for the last week and a half, so no suprises nothing much happening today. FTBs solicitor returned from holiday yesterday to say she still is not happy about the supposedly resolved boundary dispute, and anyway she needs to give nine working days notice to get the money so no pre Christmas move. I have now said that if we do not exchange today our house is going back on the market. I don't know whether to cry or scream.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
scream hex just scream. Screaming is MUCH more satisfying I often do it.
I find crying pointless, I look rough after which gives me another reason to be !!!!ed off, which is not what I need right now, nor you either:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Oh Hex! that is awful. We are supposed to be exchanging but buyer's contract is 'lost in the post'. We and they have requested it be faxed but their Solicitor says there is no copy to do that with. Whole document has to be drawn up again! surely someone makes a copy of a legal document before sending it by post?
((((((hugs)))))))) to all you who are frustrated by this stressful process.0 -

Cheers that was what I thought.
But in any case isnt this a bit offensive. He is dragging the bloody process out by asking umpteen ridiculous questions? In the meanwhile im about to l0ose our holding deposit on the rented place and I have his sodding post to deal with.
Im just not amused. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

hex2 - thats awful and so annoying - I have got everything crossed that your exchange will happen today. Why do they need 9 days to get the money? That seems ridiculous in this day and age.
Things are hopefully still moving at my end. My buyer has just spoken to someone at Abbey who says the mortgage offer has now been printed and just has to sent to the admin dept who will fax it to the solicitor. They have promised to do it today or by tomorrow lunchtime at the latest. EXCUSE ME? They just need to fax a couple of sheets of paper and its going to take 24 hours. Its driving me MAD!
Anyway, thats OK. By tomorrow lunchtime will be fine. On the strength of this promise my buyer is booking a flight and arranging to come home and sign everything tomorrow. If things go smoothly we may be able to exchange tomorrow, or at least on Friday.
I must keep positive - things are looking good for us. But I won't believe it until it actually happens.0 -
It is some specialist finance company and they have now said 8 working days - all of the sols are shut on the Friday so we are now looking at 2nd Jan. Have heard this from the upward chain EA who also say that they dont know of any company who ask for more than 5 working days notice.
I have lost the ability to respond reasonably to anything, and I can't breathe. This may be related to the explosion in a glitter factory that happened in the living room whilst I was on the phone to the EA. never ever leave two toddlers, four tubes of glitter and a pritt stick unattended. At least we are looking a little more festive.......'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

I never ever want to go through this buying and selling lark again, its incredible stressful.
Not content with the costs and rip off charges. I keep being asked for information from my property and in particularly a guarantee for a small kitchen extension built in 1993 for cavity wall.
At times I just feel like giving up, although desperate to move for space and health reasons, I sometime think is it all worth it.
Hope someone had some good news today, there's more dips in this rollercoaster ride than I had hoped.
I am also still waiting my mortgage offer so the solicitor can move on and get a date for the new year, at least its something to look forward too, I just don't want Christmas and new year this year all my energy and money has gone into moving, what little I had.0 -
Don't breathe, don't look and don't stop crossing your fingers but the FTB solicitor has now said we can exchange for a late next week move.
My sols says dont get excited yet. Get excited? I cant blooming breathe as it is.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0
