Lynz, at least it gives you something specific to chase. I hate the hanging round bits most

Finally got my mortgage offer confirmed verbally at least, should get a copy in writing in a few days time and asked them to fax my solicitor.

I have given up on Christmas move my sellers need 2 weeks notice and tbh its too close to Christmas now even though I don't feel like celebrating because the last few weeks I put my life on hold. Positive outcome fingers crossed is a new year, new house.

    sorry to hear that Poppycat.

personally I dont think Im in any race at the mo .

Finally managed to speak with the housing assoc and they have said they are doinbg the forjm now, and will return by either close of business today, or first thing in the morning as a manager has to sign it off.

So we do have some progress, but this is ridiculous. Its bascially in order to be in for Xmas we need to exchange this week and complete on monday next really. I cant see it being possible if not. the sols close on the 22nd.

Lynz, keeping everything crossed for you, and everyone else thanks for the support and sympathy.

Whoo better late than never hex :) Hopefully in the end it will be wel worth it.

Can we expect the house warming invites in the new year ;)
  • Hex2 and Lynz, sorry to hear of all your delays! Sounds like a nightmare! hex2, fingers crossed for you that you WILL exchange this week. You still have 2 days, would say there's a pretty good chance. Repeat after me: I WILL EXCHANGE THIS WEEK... I WILL EXCHANGE THIS WEEK... I WILL EXCHANGE THIS WEEK...

Poppycat, I know what you mean about not doing this ever again! That was what I said before the exchange happened. Like I said fairly early on, housebuying must be like childbirth, you forget the pain right after it happens and I am happy to say that is true (the housebuying bit, not the childbirth bit!). We exchanged a week and a half ago and I can't remember why I was so stressed in the first place! :rotfl:

Good luck lewolf and robin, fingers crossed for you both... Welcome wiggly! I remember how nerve-wrecking it was with the mortgage offer (go back to page 1 if you can bear to read it all again! LOL).
