  • BRILLIANT news hex2 :j

Its true what they say about never giving up. Never give up everyone - miracles do happen!

I'm not going to exchange today but tomorrow is possible. Everyone involved in my chain has spent the last 3 days chasing my buyers mortgage offer fax, and when it actually arrived at 5pm yesterday, the solicitor decided they needed the original letter after all. :rolleyes2

So the letter was posted yesterday evening (by DX which I understand means it should have got there today or tomorrow at the latest).

My buyer has an appointment to sign all the papers tomorrow morning and my solicitor thinks we should be able to exchange after that.

We're still aiming (hoping) to move a week today on the 21st.

50 percent, once the mortgage offer is in you will need an appointment to sign the contracts, and discuss the results of the searches. Keep pushing your solicitor and make sure you are ready to drop everything to get in and sign.

  • Hi rachaelc, we are completing tomorrow too! Spoke to solicitor today and apparently they have received money from the bank and she will initiate process first thing tomorrow! Can't wait! :) Lynz, you are quiet today? Any updates? (Keeping fingers crossed for you!)

Well at least it isnt a 13th tommorow :)
  • Thanks Hex2 for your reply.
I went to the solicitors yesterday to sign a contract and draft lease (the solicitor wanted to ensure that the terms of the lease are ok with me). We discussed the searches - all positive. My Dad is funding the deposit and he has given the solicitors a cheque today. I do not know when exchange is expected to take place, but I'm just curious how likely it will be that completion will take place on the 21st
There's no chain - if that makes any difference!
Sorry if I'm being really stupid, but I'm an anxious FTB and desperate to complete before January

We had our offer accepted at the end of August.

Due to issues with Conveyancers were looking to exchange in the first week December.... its going to be VERY close if we move in before Christmas. Maybe a week before?

Well, we exchanged on Wednesday and are due to complete on Monday (18th). a full week before Christmas. Thats cutting it a little close me thinks.

    4 months in total.

I just hope it all stays together :)
