    Havent heard anythinig else.

Ive written off being in for Xmas, I juust dont think its feasible at all now
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • We exchanged yesterday!
Completion date set for 12th January 2007 :T

Not so much the race to "be in" for Christmas - more a race to get things ready through Christmas!

Its finally beginning to feel real now! :T
  • Today is the big day. The day when a years worth of work is rewarded and I can finally relax. From lunchtime today I will have a big smile on my face.

No, I'm not talking about the house - today is my office Christmas party!!!!

We're off out for lunch and then a small gorup of us have booked the afternoon off and are going to stay in the pub all afternoon

BUT ... today might also be the BIG DAY. The REALLY BIG DAY

I'm hoping we will also be able to exchange contracts today!! I will probably be checking my phone every 30 seconds during my Christmas dinner!

Lynz - sorry to hear you've still not made nay progress. What a shame. Is it worth one more try today? Good luck anyway, and to everyone else as well.

i am fairly busy today. I have a meeting coming up this morning which Im about to go to then I have to pop into town for something then over to a mates house on an errand. the pop somewhere else for another Xmas thing.

I cant see the appeal of chasing it today really. My sol is clearly aware of how desperate we are, but Im not even sure that we are ready for exchange in any case, I dont tihnk my sols have got it together. despite it looking so earlier in proceedings.

I have Xmas to plan for, and that has to take priority today. If however I get the magic phone call Ill spring into action!

  • We completed today! Oh and I took the day off and slept in... I woke up at 10.11am to a answer phone message from lawyer's secretary that we completed at 10.10am (how's that for a woman's intuition?!!).

OH and I can't believe it happened so quickly, bearing in mind how painful exchange was. But it's happened now and EA has called to say we can come and pic up the keys! (OH is on sofa watching Champions League draw, argggggghhhhhhhh) Talk to you all tonight. We are moving tomorrow.

Whoo congratulations folks. Happy for all :)

    Just a quick update

Solicitors now want guarantee for our boiler. I have that :)

My EA sent me a bill for wrong amount for a house sale at £155,500 (2,265 inc Vat) it was also sent to my solicitor. Its wrong amount it should be £112,500 (£1,669 inc VAT)

I now got my mortgage offer with the increased arrangement fee from £99 to £599. Not happy about this as it will be on the mortgage and well it adds an extra few quid which eats into our disposable income. I am going to complain about this but as we have committed I cant say no, but a letter of complaint will be made as someone messed up by not telling us sooner.

:grouphug: Lynz - Heres hoping you get some movement Monday.

Angel, congratulations, and to ghostdog and gimpy moo.

50 percent - you need to be asking your solicitor about when you will exchange/complete. They usually want cleared funds from the deposit - so four working days before you could exchange, they will also need to give your mortgage company notice that they require the money - five working days for mine, but nine working days for the people at the bottom of my chain. Sorry but I think you will be cutting it very fine to be in for Christmas, and if you are to have any chance of achieving it you need to speak to your sols asap and tell them what timetable you want. Remember you instruct a solicitor, they simply advise you!

So pleased, but also so busy now!! I've already packed a lot but there's a long way to go. Plus all the utilities and change of addresses and cancellations to do. Its not stressful though like the last month has been.

    Have a good weekend everyone.
