Chardhouse dont despair, I am at the top of a chain like the one you have started and I deliberately looked for one with no upward chain as I knew the people below me had messed about for weeks and their FTBs were getting fed up and nervous.

  • I've loved this thread ever since it started as we've been looking for a house. We had our offer accepted on our house yesterday. We sold our house in September and have been renting ever since. The house we are moving into is vacant as well. That's the chain basically. Hopefully we'll be in by Christmas!

I posted this on a new thread earlier......

Been waiting for 2 months for Vendors Solicitor to answer outstanding enquires from our Solicitor re the conversion to the property we're buying.

Anyway Vendors EA calls me this morning to say Vendor went to her Solicitor yesterday then went home opened a box and went oh this paperwork might help to answer them!!!!

NOW WHY DIDN'T SEE DO THIS WEEKS AGO....................

Dare we even hope this might be a dim light at the end of the tunnel!!!
House purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.

Hang in there everyone it is worth it

valuation is back on new place, no mg offer till 3 specialist reports done and an 8k retention

could just cry, but pulled myself together, reports booked for Monday and Tuesday, sols say if no offer by end of next week then 8th Dec unlikely.

on the positive side we want the house whatever the report says.

Was hoping to exchange today but, surprise, surprise, we didn't - apparently some 'missing documentation' further up the chain. Informed will be sorted in next few days, hope to exchange early next week and still gunning for the 21st. A shame as I wanted to be able to relax this weekend knowing will definitely be moving. _pale_

Blimey Hex, what's wrong with it - is it just an old property?
  • I'm going to making a solicitor voodoo doll tonight, to exact revenge on the lazy overpaid lawmonkey dealing with the clients at the top of our chain. We, the FTBers at the bottom have been ready to exchange for 3 weeks. Everyone in the chain has signed now but the solicitor at the top is 'too busy to exchange' today. I'm going insane, i have ordered a bed for my currently-fictional-house and i'm too afraid to order a sofa. I won't have anything to sit on till feburary now.

Hey - what a good idea - solicitor voodoo dolls!! :rotfl:

Just spoke to my solicitor who said our vendors sols are sending us a new fixtures and fitting form as vendor wants to take bins. (I sincerecly hope THIS was not the reason we didn't exchange today!) Now, I know they are only bins but I'm thinking - hang on a minute, we were gonna exchange today and now you pop in your're taking the bins??? (they're special recyling bins - 3 of - 2 are provided free by council, but why should WE now have the hassle of phoning an order and waiting for order - and surely they are property of council?? 3rd you have to buy - £37/21 dependent on size)

Bring me some cloth, needle, thread and long, spikey pins.....Vendor Voodo, heasr I come...
