Great news Bargain & congrats Curley!!! :)

I have a horrible feeling my buyer is going to pull out tomorrow, solicitors haven't heard anything so I rang my buyer today and he said there was a glitch with finance and he'd know tomorrow whether it was all going ahead!! Great stuff - why not tell us before now??? It will be a major disappointment for us losing the shop and for the elderly couple retiring from the shop :(

If it does fall through we won't put the hotel back on the market though, it's actually a really good investment property so we'll just live here and look for a leasehold business instead - It's just horrible having things on hold!

I am sooooo happy I just had to post: we have just heard our mortgage application was approved and an offer issued!!!!

As FTBs we were so anxious waiting for this, it is a great feeling knowing that at least that part has gone right...

now lest hope vendor's sols get his act together so we can move soon!

Slight update, title deed pack received paperwork we needed isn't there (we knew this anyway, we know there isn't any planning permission or building regs) Vendor going into see Solicitor later EA thinks she is going to need to go to the Council to see whether there is any planning permisson or building regs - ARHH we know there isn't!

So one step forward and one step back its like the hokey cokey
House purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.

Hang in there everyone it is worth it

Congrats! I hope noone is still on this thread in Jan.
    I think we're nearly there.
Our solicitor leaned on our buyers sending a letter saying they'd better get their act together or the sale was off. The leaning worked as the mortgage offer has been faxed over from the Halifax to their solicitor but in the meantime our anxious FTBers thought we were going to change our minds re sale.
I haven't been paying much attention to house prices here in NI since we agreed the sales but I gather (from sols) our buyers will have clocked up 10k or more of equity by the time we complete. So at least they'll feel they made the right decision and have a bit of a cushion. They're nice people. I hope it works out for them in the long run.
I feel confident enough to pack a few more boxes now!

  • Congrats chicarg! I know we were most worried about the mortgage offer so we were thrilled to finally receive it so congrats to you. Just hope the rest of the journey is a good one! :j

Hey mrsc, don't get discouraged... Any step forward is better than none!

Roma, congrats on signing the contracts (read it on another thread!). We have signed ours as well, just waiting for the exchange bit now. Hoping it would happen early next week. Do you think we will be jinxing it if we went and ordered some furniture this weekend? I mean, our sellers have already packed pretty much all their stuff, they can't pull out now!

    Offer accepted 11/9/06

    Mortgage approved

    Nothing at all since then.
    Boo.
Still waiting for vendor to find a property to move to so no point in getting surveys and searches done.
So frustrating but I hope it's worthwhile in the end.
    8 weeks of nothing.

    Update-
9/11/06 Vendor has offer accepted on house
Bad news is her seller now has to find a property.
And the chain disappears into the sunset..
