adelight we were talking about you at the meet yesterday and are all worried about you in a room as cold as that, your really need to get your heating on or you will end up killing yourself. Fair enough if your body is warm on the outside with layers etc, but it won't do you any good breathing in such cold air over a long period of time, it is dangerous.

I don't want to make anyone worry, I don't sleep upstairs anymore so I'm no worse off than someone who works outside.
Needless to say, as soon as my lease is up, I'm out of here so really don't worry :o Until then I've got a convection heater which gets it a bit warmer but it is impossible to get above 13/14C or to keep the heat in!

Good, whenever you say its 6 or 7 degrees, I picture you as a wee blue thing shivering in the cold. :) and please don't be offended, it only came up because we were complaining about the cold! ;)

DD is in my bad books she woke me at 5am because she had trouble with the key

Morning, very brassed off with the site, I have now lost 4 messages and had to change my password yet again!!!

8"+ of snow last night, blooming cold out. We have the stove going and I have turned off the sitting room and hall rads and put the heating back on low in the bedrooms and kitchen.

Chicken for supper planning on doing some baking whilst the big oven is on, biccies, muffins and chocolate cake....may be some mince pies too.

I undertand Marie and her husband are on their way to Prestwick to try and get home to Dublin, Edinburgh airport being closed, they are flying Ryanair, I do hope they do not end up sleeping on the airport floor!!!

Time to think about some lunch, soup and bread me thinks with some fruit to follow.

    Morning All

We have snow here too - not sure what the temperature is but 'bl00dy cold' about covers it!
Been MIA as I have the lergy and working and chrimbo shopping have taken what time and energy that I had left. tried to kill the cold with southern comfort last night and failed! Been ill for ten days with it and I am slowly getting better as I can taste a little now but I'm as deaf as a door post - will pick some decongestant up today see if that will clear the pipes!
OS has been absent this last week and we have had more than our fair share of takeaways but I will try and muster some more energy from somewhere! DS1 gutted the kitchen last night and mopped all the floor for me too.

Have 4 small MS jobs to do this afternoon which I could do with out but todays the last day - DH will mind the kids tho so I'll get peace for an hour or so :D

I have an online shop coming tomorrow night so will pick up something for dinner tonight while I'm out.

    Have a good day x

I'm only shivering until I get a cuppa or pop the heater on :p I just find the tempereatures around the flat really interesting so have lots of thermometers set up and am wondering just how low it's gonna get.

Just got the bbc news channel on,
And the snow in places is very very bad. NI and wales had the coldest november night on record:eek: We have had the most wide spred snow in 17 years:eek:
Temp went down to -18 in some pleces:eek:

Snow and ice to last for the rest of the week:eek:

Now they are not yet saying it but you wait when this lot starts melting they will be reporting wide spred floods:eek:

We dont have any snow here there was only a light dusting yesterday. But they have forcast snow for tuesday here.

hope that you are all keeping warm and looking after yourselfs.
:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j
  • I think I have found a bed for mr and mrs marie if they are stuck and ryanair don't help them, but I expect they will be fine, the airport apparently is the most reliable in the country in the snow - something to do with its location.

Our microwave went caput yesterday. Well, BF tried to defrost a frozen yorkshire and it went nuts, started making crazy zapping sounds and whole of the inside lit up bright white and flashing! Turned it off and haven't touched it since, but now I can't have porridge or reheat my hm frozen

Was the frozen yorkie in a foil tray by any chance?

Hope Marie gets home safely. We don't have any snow on Merseyside yet. I have a sledge ready for the house elf when it arrives.

Speaking of house elves, mine had minor surgery on Friday. The children at school had been poking the skin tags on his neck, and they also caught on his pyjamas on one memorable occasion. The screams were awful. The doctor said afterwards that she was dreading it because of his age (6) but he was so keen to get rid of them, he walked into her room laughing. His little eyes watered when she made the first cut (without anaesthetic - she said the injection would be more painful than the procedure) and he didn't flinch when she did the second. He didn't cry, and I peeled the steri strips off last night slowly and carefully while he was sleeping.

I am decluttering so I'm sat surrounded by bags of "things". They need to be either put away properly or binned. I made ashet pie last night, and that was deemed a success by the friends that I made it for. Slow cookers rule!

Oh, and although we don't have snow it's very cold here. The house elf was in the kitchen this morning and saw a "big mouse" walk past the french windows. Looking for something to eat that wasn't frozen I assume.

    Take care all of you
