Actually the word is spelt foetus, unless you're an American!lindseykim13 wrote: »Whatever YOU decide to do YOU have to live with it. Not some random person pro or anti abortion on a forum.
Absolutely right.LadyMariannaKL wrote: »Actually at 3 weeks (or 5 weeks if the OP has not inculded the 2 weeks from LMP) it is an embryo not a fetus.
You may be making her feel bad with your pro abortion views.
I hope the OP does not read through the arguments on this thread. It helps no one.
OP, whatever you decide to do, I wish you all the best. So long as you make your decision after having thought all scenarios through, you will be making the correct decision. Please do speak to someone in real life, do you have a firend who you can speak too? Or a nice uni advisor?
Correct he/she is an embryo until fully developed when they become a foetus.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Actually I consider myself quite well honed on this subject
I was in uni in High Wycombe age 21 and found myself pregnant. My head lecturer suggested I not try to continue the next year as he feared it would affect my results. So I moved back to N.ireland and had my little girl (I have her dad as support but tbh I would happily have still done it alone). Money isn't a big issue imo. If you budget and plan well then you will always have enough even if it is tight. Ive never not been able to pay my rent or bills and my little girl has wanted for nothing she has needed. Sure at the moment she isnt on fancy holidays just yet BUT I went back to uni, I finished my degree, I moved to London, I got a job and moved onto a better job paying £5k better a yr within a year of being there.
Life doesn't become bleak because you have a baby, losing sight of your goals is what makes it seem that way. If you want something, work hard and it will be yours....no baby will ever stop that

I've worked out, according to when my last time of the month was and other factors that I might be up to 3 weeks pregnant. Did three tests today and all had the same results.
BUT the problem is I am slightly bipolar, I've been okay for a while and its never been bad. But I do have circa 10k of debt which is a bit stressful. So part of me says yes, abortion......but I know I would probably regret it.LilMissEmmylou wrote: »Actually I concider myself quite well honed on this subject

Your circumstances are not really the same - abby is very unsure that she will get support from her family, she is bipolar and already in £10,000 of debt.0 -

I have about £5k of debt.... its working its way down, not as a student it didnt and that isnt including the £20k of student debt I have (btw you get extra financial help as a student with a baby as they do take that into account Abby). But now I am working and earning well it's all leveling out. In fact, if I didn't live in London I would have about £500 extra a month spare cash (thats how much I would save on rent alone while still being in a nice 3 bed house with garden etc!)
I'm not bipolar no and my parents hate my partner, so yes I see them and they love both me and my daughter but I live in another country to them.... they cant exactly come around and baby sit. However there are ALWAYS options.
Support from gingerbread or surestart centers are a good example. making friends with other mums at anti natal classes and at nursery. Support can be found in the most wonderful and free places and I am sure with bipolar there would also be free help from social services who can offer advice and support. Money towards (or in some cases totally covering) child care can also be provided.
Nobody is going to be from the EXACT same background as Abby, however I would say mine was somewhat similar with the exception of having support from the babies dad (which as yet we don't know if she has).0 -

Have you got a link for that, teabythesea? I know ultrasounds have been done for years, if a miscarriage is suspected, to check for viability at around 7 or 8 weeks of pregnancy. My sister had such a scan, and my nephew is nearly 10 now. If there is no heart there till a month later, why did the technician tell her they could see a heartbeat?
See http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0CYD/is_16_38/ai_107275721/ and
http://www.theavenueclinic.com/viability_scan.php, just from a quick google - both mentioning heartbeats seen very early on.PPI on Natwest loan, Barclayloan, MBNA credit card, and Mortgagecare all repaid just for asking in 2012/2013!
Barclaycard - PPI refund refused 26/01/13, ombudsman upheld 12 May 2014, Barclays resisted until March 2015 - FOS say Barclays are calculating an offer, they have 8 weeks.0 -

I just read this when another member quoted it.
Where on earth are you getting this information? By week 5 the heart has all four chambers, the lungs are starting to appear and the brain is developing. Heart, lungs and brain are organs.
It has no bearing on the thread at all, but please ensure your facts are correct before posting.0 -
Nice to see you back, Abby. Thought I recognised your username as I followed your thread last year about moving to Paris to work.
No advice to give except listen to your heart. Hope you make the right decision for yourself. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I may be wrong - but from what I recall from way back of having seen pro LIFE propaganda this does sound a lot like the sort of thing they tend to say. The pro Life lobby often have those views because of religious beliefs.....just saying....this may not be as "objective" a post as its trying to sound....(I'd better stick in an apology now if this poster ISNT a Pro Life supporter...).
For anyone wishing to check out to see whether views are objective on the one hand or by the Pro Life group on the other hand they might wish to see:
