Have a receipt ready for hime to sign when he collects his stuff and while the police are there.

"This is to confirm that I have been given access to remove all my belongings from [address]. I confirm I have collected everything in good condition, and have no further need for access"

Just covers you if he tries to claim later either that something was missing, or damaged.

He nearly broke - but he hasn't and he won't. Yesterday it was still raw - today you are realising you can move forward from this. And as you say, your guilt is dying by the hour.

If the best he can do is get his family to send you messages on Facebook then you have nothing to worry about. If he makes any direct threats then take them to the police. Make a note of how many times he contacts you as you may well be able to get them done for harrassment too. And is it worth changing your telephone numbers?

What post did he have, if it was anything of a financial nature, get onto those people ASAP to ensure he cannot use cards/bank accounts/etc....

You'll feel pleased with yourself that you were strong enough to do this by this time next week, I promise.

Glad to have bought a smile to your face!

Now remember how good that feels and that's what it will be like more and more moving forward after Friday.

    Feels good, doesn't it?

Enjoy the snow ... I've got 4 inches now and a very happy Westie who's jumping like a lamb :D

I know how very very close I came to being broken and this forum really really helped me and my sanity!!

I am changing my number etc and have already been logging incidents down - advice of the police :)

I am feeling more secure about things now - I have a lot to think about and do!!

  • Done and deleted -did that after reading:(, when I realised what him and his family were trying to do.

There's one very powerful word that can be used in situations like this. It's overused in some instances but underused in others.

    And that word is

    'whatever'

And that's how you need to react to everything now. You neither care nor not care; you are blase and not only refuse to be annoyed but refuse to be bothered. No reaction is SO much better than any reaction.

How very droll, like an annoying midge that you really can't be bothered to swat. Sigh.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

  • Oh and once he has finished ranting at any point, take out a nail file, start filing your nails and ask if he has quite finished as you've got some stuff to be getting on with.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
