£10 Xbox 360 with Orange broadband and off-peak calls discussion

To be honest, i was doubtful that the deals would run in conjunction but thought i'd ask the question. The woman i spoke to checked with her boss and said that you could combine these deals but needed to get the right line first. I didn't get into specifics as to how they fund the deals but your best bet would be to phone and see if you can get something from them via email confirming this.
For me I don't really want the Xbox and can be bothered punting it on eBay so I'll be going down the recommend a friend option, and trying to get the cashback on top of that.
Does anyone know, do you have to switch your phoneline to them (and take this specific bb/calls package) to be eligible for the Xbox, or could you sign up with the £10 BB only package?
Many thanks

You will have to pay line rental to Orange for this deal. It's a calls and BB deal.
I think it's only worth it if you are connected to an Orange BB enabled telephone exchange.
The offer sound really good, but it is Orange, and that is what is making me think twice.
Any advice??0 -
Anyone else been able to claim the XBox and Topcashback £100? Usually states not to be used in conjunction with any other offers but saw no such small print on Xbox offer.
Simsony - the offer was to end of yesterday only. All big companies are fine until things go wrong imo and you never read good news on forums do you?0 -
Thanks royboy, I actually already got the voucher and the codes.
Every company gets complaints, but the trouble with Orange is the way they handle it. Some of the stories are down right sinister.
The worst I've come across: Guy takes contract, line not activated and no router, wants to cancel, calls them up towards the end of cooling off period. Told to call back and cancel when router comes. He asks if that would means paying the entire contract fee to cancel, Orange sheepishly answers: Yes!!
So won't be going for it, will ask for refund from Groupon.
Cheers!0 -
Noone gone the Topcashback/Xbox way???:silenced: Seems to be rather too generous?0

Anyone order this offer and received their xbox? I was connected on 12/12/10 but not received the xbox yet!
By the way, the broadband, line and phone package is great, getting speeds of 16mb on my line and have not had any problems downloading +10gb files at any time of the day!0 -
Has anyone got the Xbox? As I ordered on the 2nd December and I still have not got mine.
I have rung up orange and they completed a form and told me to call back in a week to see how they got on.
Also if anyone has had there Xbox was it sent from Groupon or Orange and which delivery company delivered the Xbox?
Thanks0 -

I have paid the first payment and the second is due out on the 12th Feb.
Have been told that they have me on a list when i signed up on the telephone number and orange are just waiting for groupon to send the xbox's to orange and then they will email me when the xbox will be dispathed.
But have also been told by someone in orange i wont get an xbox because the the name on the orange account is not the same on the groupon account due to it being a gift from somebody !!!!
Has anyone else had problems with this ???
Could anyone from groupon please help with this query ????
From a very worried / confused / unhappy customer
Ps if i dont get the xbox a person from orange is already got my account details for being missold the broadband !!!!!!0 -
Ok, here's my experience so far...
I redeemed my Groupon voucher on 30/11/10 - was told by Orange rep when signing up that the Xbox would be sent out after "about 6 weeks, once 1st payment has been taken".
After waiting the full 2 months (as per T&Cs), as there was still no sign of my Xbox (or even an email saying it had been sent) I rang the tel on the voucher (0800 953 5790).
I was told:- Xbox should be sent out in about 1.5wks time.
- T&Cs state it will be sent within 2 months of 1st payment, not signing up (despite me having T&Cs in front of me!!)
- Groupon are responsible for sending out Xboxes, not Orange.
- Call 'Groupon' on 0844 873 8586 (options 1, 1, 1) if nothing received after 2wks. (I tried the tel and it's Orange BB C/Services!)
- They have launched an investigation as a lot of people are not getting their Xboxes.
- Xboxes are being sent out 2-3 months after signing up!!!
- It is actually Orange, NOT Groupon who are sending out the Xboxes...
- That I'd actually been directed to Billing Enquiries
- There is a dedicated team dealing with 3rd party offers - their tel is 0800 408 1727.
- That (yep, you've guessed it) GROUPON are responsible for sending out the Xboxes!
- They are getting a lot of people whose details "do not seem to have been passed on to Groupon".
- They would pass on my details to the Groupon manager to chase up the Xbox.
- I would hear back from 'someone' very soon...
On top of this Orange BB has been spectacularly poor - I was never expecting the 12mbps that Orange claimed I would get, but I did assume that I would get at least the same speed as my previous provider O2... Silly me, apparently with exactly the same apparatus & set up (except for the routers - which were both standard ones provided by ISP) I should expect my line speed to be slashed from an average of 4-4.5mbps with O2 to maybe 1-1.5mbps on a good day (0-0.25mbps on a bad day!!) with Orange... It's not even like I live out in the sticks, I live in a decent sized town in SE England!0
