Alnwick Castle

The first Harry Potter film where they played Quidich, also filmed there as was Robin Hood Prince of thieves, Dracula, King Arthur and the spaceman and a few more that I can't remember.

Bamburgh Castle

They filmed a Lion in winter there with Richard Burton and Vanessa Redgrave. Liz Taylor was with Burton during the filming but was not in the movie. If you are ever in the Anglers Arms at Weldon bridge near Rothbury they spent some time there away from the publics gaze.

The Frog's Legacy, the Christmas 1986 episode, was filmed at the junction of Rectory Road and Seymour Road in Ipswich.

Watching a drama series some years ago, the hero was driving from Salisbury to London and was stopped for speeding on the A30 at exactly the spot where my ex was caught speeding at Barton Stacey!

In Rossendale there has been a few tv and films done.

Oranges are not the only fruit - this was filmed in and around Rawtenstall.

Hetty Wainthropp Investigates - This again was filmed in and around rawtenstall. One of the locations was Alder Grange High Schools food tech room.

Juliet Bravo - This was filmed in and around Bacup. The police station was actually the Bacup Police Station.

Survivors - The shops were on Bank St in Rawtenstall and the house they lived in is on the side of Musbury Tor in Helmshore.

Josie Smith - This was filmed in Crawshawbooth. The park is Hill St park and the school is Crawshawbooth Primary School.

Sharpe - This was filmed mainly around Helmshore. They used the Helmshore Textile Museum as well.

Girls Night - this was a film with Julie Walters. The Bingo hall they went to used to be the picture house, then was a shopping arcade before it burned down. Now it is closed.

Parts of the vampires of venice (doctor who) were filmed in llancaich fawr and Caerphilly castle and they are currently at Caerphilly castle filming for series 6

A film about the stone of destiny was filmed near me in the Paisley abbey. Walked by a few times when it was filmed, cant remember any of the stars in it though, couldntve been that memorable!

Various films have used the covered slipways in Chatham Historic Dockyard as a location; Children of Men is one that springs to mind.

Last Orders (Michael Caine, Bob Hoskins and others) was shot largely in the Medway Towns, including Rochester and the war memorial on top of the hill at Gillingham.

Both the dockyard and central Rochester are well worth a visit.
