The csa has (hopefully) changed my account to online 7 , my bonuses have been included and they will backdate the changes. I also enquired about the online account as it is a bit bizzare being on an online fee if you dont have the access. She set me up and i have managed to log onto the old system. bizarrely it doesnt actually show online what package you are on. but im well in credit!! as they havent billed me yet
I am on online 7 already and got the letter a few weeks back about them increasing prices for standard customers but not me, my friend who signed up for the same deal never got the letter but I haven't had chance before today to ask if it ever arrived.
He then got the letter about prices going up, he panicked and phoned me. I told him I had read some posts here about people signing up to OS7 and being put on the standard tariff, I asked him to call CS to ask what was happening.
He phoned up and they said 'ah yes, we can see you signed up to OS7, and you have been billed on the standard tariff. Sorry about that' and they then transferred him over.
But hold on, this is really wrong. He admits had it not been for speaking to me, he would have accepted this letter knowing OS7 is not a fixed tariff but subject to movement up to 2% of the standard tariff. He would have been hundreds of pounds a year worse off without realising.
Surely the regulator needs to investigate this, or at least MSE News team to cover it and get some publicity? This is a massive problem and technically a fraudulent handling of customer accounts.
On a bonus note, the CS rep confirmed to him (as has already been mentioned) OS7 is fixed until at least December this year.0 -
I got the price increase letter and just rang them, they confirmed I was on the online saver 7 tariff and that the price wasnt changing for that tariff, my bonus had been applied and I should ignore the letter !0

Have you received your first bill yet though? The friend I am referring to got his welcome bonus and still got the letter. He wasn't on the OS7 tariff, his first bill clearly stated he was billed on the standard rate and they had messed up.
If you have had your first bill and it did indeed say OS7 on the front of it then this could be a simple mistake.
If you haven't had your first bill (and of course the CS rep will know if you have or not), they could well have been bluffing and said you was on OS7 when in fact you was still on their standard tariff but the rep would change it before you got the bill.0 -
Just had my first electricity bill from EDF.
Even after being told I was on OLV7, (see my earlier posts) you've guessed it, billed for standard!!
OK the billing period was only one day (!!), I haven't submitted a reading yet, so all the bill actually showed was the welcome bonus and my first DD payment.
So even though it said its my first electricity bill, I think its really a statement?? Who knows!
Worryingly, also was an accompanying letter extolling the virtues of paying by DD, which I already do!
I just bet that when my first reading is called for, and the billing is actioned, it'll be on standard tariff despite being told otherwise. Or maybe it'll be on some other tariff not yet dreamed up yet!
The incompetency of EDF really beggars belief.0 -
Hi. Just to let you all know that I have also had problems with switching. My first bill arrived and my electricity was 'standard' and gas 'dual fuel' - no mention of Online Saver. I managed to find an 0191 number (0191 5221202) which was still open after the 2pm office close and the lady there was very helpful switching both accounts and backdating the tariff to Online Saver 7. Hope this helps someone.

Oh my !!
It's getting to the point, when it's becoming funny if it wasn't such a waste of time.
Let us know how you get on. They have an online Saver 9 now,so you could be in groundbreaking territory.0 -
I was on the OS6 tariff up until 2/3/11 & following the price hike I now appear to be on OS9 as my new values match that tariff exactly (Eastern region)Time is a concept of relativity, yet as a concept, relativity is timeless.0

I really am loosing the will to live with this company. Still had no reply to my email sent on 25th Feb, no online access and my electric still hasn't been transfered - nearly 4 months since request!
Do companies have to carry out the transfer within a certain time frame? Can only find reference to most companies saying it should be 4-6 weeks, but this is rediculous! Also had price increase from current supplier (Eon) so doubly not happy.0 -

I too have been billed for standard tariff for 3 months even though I signed up to Online Saver 7 in December!!
I have phoned EDF and have been told that OS7 is being withdrawn from the market and that someone will contact me to resolve my tariff issue next Tuesday! Yes they actually said it will take that long (4 days) to get back to me. The reason for the mess up is because of my previous supplier - even though I don't have one:(
They also said they are currently switching to a new computer system and so have a huge backlog.0
