More seriously, a lot of the EDF people I have dealt with have been very understanding and most helpful. I think, however, their hands are currently tied by system weaknesses as they migrate to a hopefully better platform.

Correct but why do it during a major Acquistions Campaign?.

But your work has done well there is an EDF rep wanting to deal with my complaint ill keep you posted.

You should be more forgiving then. ;)

Good point on timing, but I suspect hindsight is a fine thing. I would imagine overall, they consider a bit of customer flak was worth all the customer gains.

I think the customer migration is working up the country. I was told my set up would be in around another two months time, so you may be even later.

However, given your complaint, they may be able to isolate your account and transfer it. (Lets hope to stop you moaning :rotfl:).
  • Myself the transfer went through pretty smoothly to be honest with access to the on-line system almost immediately !I think some credit must be given to EDF .
Freezing the prices until March and possibly longer , offering a product that is competitive with an allowance towards your bill (£100) £80 from quidco I think many people wish they could go on that tariff now

I took the 2010 Novermber offer of £100 for joining and got £80 from quidco. I have had no letter about prices going up though. My statements don't state anything about "Online Saver 7" Does this mean I am not included in the price freeze ?

I too had a letter from EDF re price hikes, but not the one I expected.

Having gone through the switching fiasco to OLV7 electricity and having been assured all was well after complaining about time and no online account, my letter assumes I'm on standard tariff and the prices are increasing!

I really am sick to death of this lot. Can't log into an online account so have no idea of account status. 90 day limit for welcome bonus is up on 6 March. Once I get that, and my £50 quidco I am going to cut my losses and run!

Yet another complaint from me is winging its way to EDF.

They are all the same. Swings and roundabouts. It is never worth switching.

BTW Frankie, Just ring them. They seem very helpful.

You can ring them, I think this is the number (I have it at work if this isn't the right one) 0800 096 9000.

Just follow the automated service to check your account balance.

You need your account numbers, for both gas and electric.

Unfortunately it isn't much help either though, all it tells me is that my account is in credit, (exactly by the welcome bonus and the dd that have been paid so far). Might sound good, but you are left with no idea what your bill is going to be or when it is going to be issued.

I joined up Nov / Dec 10. Now have an online account, with no online access.
  • I too have the online energy saver 7 but no online access. I've phoned a zillion times, each time giving up after being on hold for over an hour. I've tried e-mail but get no responses. My electricity was due to switch on 14th December but still hasn't switched yet. Originally they said British Gas had objected to the switch - when I rang them they said they hadn't and there was no outstanding balance on the account or anything so it should have gone through. Still waiting and can never get in touch with them to find out a, why my electric still hasn't switched and b, why the online registration still does not work after nearly 3 months of trying! Getting a bit miffed now!

This is frustrating. I cannot get through to their "Other " inquiries option because the line goes quiet and then goes into a continuous dialing tone every time. There is no other way around this.
