Hi CMD thanks for popping in. Wow a 3hour nap? That's unheard of here

It is much easier to get things done without the kiddies here but I do miss them.

Today we are off to coffee morning at our church. DS and I go nearly every week but as DD is in full time school now she misses out (it used to be our little treat when she was small) so she loves going in the holidays. We get tea and toast (squash for the littlies) all for a donation to the charities we support. Win win for everyone.

I've got some tidying to do today as I didn't get any done yesterday and a bit of sewing/crocheting after the kids are in bed tonight. Apart from that not much planned really. Going to aim for a LSD I think

I haven't got any money news to report as nothing has happened. Waiting for DH to get paid middle of the month so we can make a payment to something. I do hate the inbetween-paydays low.

On the upside we have booked a stall at a kid market. It's a bit like a car boot sale but it's only baby/children up to 7 stuff so we should be able to get rid of a lot of our stuff in one go. We have a lot of baby things especially clothes and all the buyers there will be looking for that. At car boots it can be hit and miss what each person is looking for but at least I can be certain that they are looking for baby/kids stuff every time. That's not til may though :( at least it's something to look forward to.

Did a bit of shopping today and I tried to only buy what was on the list. The list had been written from a meal plan so I didn't buy too much and things we didn't really need. It was hard not buying all the things on offer and buying "just in case" but our shopping came in at almost half what it normally does. We'll just have to see if we need any top up shopping and how much that costs us. Otherwise this is the way to shop for us I think.

How does everyone else shop? Do you buy everything on offer in one go or just buy what you need for that week?

I'm in a bit of a panic this afternoon. DH has had a letter from a solicitors. Now he's in work but I'm quite nosey :o so I looked up the solicitor online. Turns out they specialise in accident claims. DH hit a van 2 months ago so I am now thinking the driver has put in a claim against him. Who pays that? Do we have to pay that or does the insurance company?

Problem is we have just cancelled the insurance on the car as it was written off. Will they still pay the claim if the policy has been cancelled? What if we have to pay it? I'm quite stressed about the whole thing at the moment :(

    Hi Star,

I'm not sure about the insurance but I would open the letter. I'm sure your OH won't mind.

I would have thought you'd be ok as you were insured at the time of the accident - surely that's what counts?

Amazing how much less you spent shopping with a list!! I can never resist the biscuit aisle :o

He'd go mad! he's very private and although I know he would show me the letter as soon as he opened it, he wouldn't be impressed if I opened without his permission!

That's the aisle that gets me too. I do love a biscuit with a cup of tea. But that's why I wobble around the tummy too :o I've decided that this month is the month I do something about my weight so I have to avoid biscuits as much as possible.

DH has just text me and told me I could open the letter. The guy is claiming for whiplash. The form says that a copy has been sent to the insurer so I'm taking that to mean that they will deal with it all. I hope so anyway!

DH assured me last night that the insurers will deal with it all so I feel better about that.

In other news today is my birthday. I have mixed feelings about it to be honest as there are a few other things going on and I'm not sure how to celebrate this year. But then I had such a big party last year that I don't need anything this year. I have managed to burn my birthday cake though. DH made one this morning and asked me to keep an eye on it when he left (it was still in the oven) and I forgot and burnt it  so I've had to make another one and hope he doesn't notice ;)

DD told me this morning she had put a lot of thought into what I would like for my birthday. When I asked her what it was she said "a kiss and a cwtch" everything I ever wanted from her :D she's a sweetheart. DS on the other hand was awake most of the night messing about and playing so I'm shattered today and so is he! They do say you'll never have two children alike!
