LT I did see on your diary. Hope all goes well for you x

I'm not having a good day today. My washing machine is making a funny noise and I'm afraid it's on it's way out. We have had it 9 years and it was the first washing machine we bought when DH and I moved in together so it's lasted well. Problem is this has highlighted our lack of savings. If it does go I have no idea how we will pay for a new one. We've been so busy concentrating on getting the debts down we have neglected the savings which took a bashing while I was on mat leave. I feel so stupid.

Yesterday I managed to get the washing machine door open and rescue the throw that was in there. It was full of water and so heavy. I emptied most of the water out of it and DH said it could have been the weight of the throw when wet that stopped the machine. He also said it maybe the filter so he is going to have a look when he gets home tonight. I do hope it's something simple like that.

It has brought home the need for savings though even though we are trying to pay off our debts. I've had a savings goal of one months bill money on my to do list for about 2 years but have never actually got round to it. I think it's time to start now. Then at least we will have some emergency money should we need it.

hope it gets better, i once decided to prioritise a trip to Oz instead of getting a new washer because the old one sounded like house bricks had been included in the wash. In the end it lasted another 18 months until Mr LT moved in and got scared so insisted that we get a new one.

DH got the washer working but it still stops at the same place in the cycle so think we need a plumber to look at it. Won't be this week though as we are off on holidays tomorrow. Can't wait tbh as I am so fed up with everything it will be really nice to leave "real life" behind for a couple of days.

Probably won't get chance to come on here so I'll see you all next week. Bye

 wow I was gone a long time wasn't I? :o RL got in the way a bit and then we got a new (to us) car making it easier for me getting back and forth to work. Unfortunatly we had a loan for the car :o and I was too embarrassed to come back here as we were doing so well but the debts crept back up again.

It's so embarrassing to read back over this diary and see that we were sub £5k :( We went back up to £14,174  It's awful really having to admit that. :o

But I have had another LBM (can't have many more left!!!) and we have been paying every last penny off the debts, I have come back "home" and getting involved with diaries and challenges here which is motivating me. Already since I popped back about a month ago we have paid off £1601.47 off our debts. I also hope to pay off another big slice and clear the joint account o/d by the end of the month as I should have 2 paydays due to leaving one job and starting another (more family friendly) one.

Is it awful that I am wishing my life away to get to payday??? :o

I had a good evening last night. Took the youth club up to the local oap home - very rewarding for the youngsters and the older people who may not see their families anymore. Anyway we walked there and back so free exercise. I ended up carrying DD (5) most of the way back cos she fell over and her knee was bleeding!

After we got home and the baby was in bed DD and I made her Easter bonnet to take to school today and I was so inspired I carried on crafting after she had gone to bed. I forget how much I love crafting. I really need to make more time to do it.

On the money front today. Not a good day. Had to send £18 into school for photos (these will be sent to grandparents etc so can't complain). DS and I are off to our church's coffee morning this morning so tea and toast for just a donation to the charities we support. So not bad. While I am there I plan to start going through the craft cupboards and giving them a good sorting out as you can hardly get in there at the mo!! I will also do some photocopying while I am there ready for a meeting tonight.

I also need to find some bathers for DS as we are staying in a friends' caravan for a couple of days next week and there is a pool on site. It's only 40minutes down the road from where we live but it's free and it's time away so I'm quite looking forward to it really.

    hi Starnac!
I wondered how you were getting on. Sorry to hear about the increase in debt, but you're in the right place. A bit of time on :money: and you'll be heading in the right direction again.

Hope all is well with you and the family.
    Overpay!
