Hi PBR thanks for dropping in. The increase mainly came from buying a new (to me) car and the expense of being back in work without pay for 2 months (I was paid a month in arrears). The car was def worth it especially now as DH had an accident in his last month and the insurers wrote it off. To be honest it was so old it was the only thing they were going to do.
But it's still an increase however I look at it so the loan has to go. It's actually the lowest interest out of the window finance and the o/d though so it will be the last to go.
How's things with you? How's baby?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Good morning. I'm feeling a bit down this morning. Had a meeting last night and a topic was raised that I felt was a personal attack on myself and it really upset me. After the meeting one of the other ladies prayed for me and I do realise now that it wasn't meant as an attack on me it was just the way the discussion went. However I am feeling very low this morning, sort of drained.
So I need to snap out of it. I plan to spend quality time with DS today while it is just the 2 of us, I have visitors due to discuss a career opportunity with me so that may be exciting and DH should be home from work when I get back from the school run this afternoon so we get the whole evening together.
That's my positives to focus on todayGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hope you're ok - glad to hear that what you thought was a personal attack was good old office politics. Sorry to hear about the car too -that's just one of those things.
I saw MSE Martin give a talk last week in which he asked the audience to decide whether certain expenditure was good or bad debt. One example was a family debating whether or not to get into debt to buy a car so that they could get to work and childcare. There was no definitive answer but it all depended on the way you handled the situation! If your car is newer, it's probably safer, so all for the best.
Good to see you posting again!Overpay!0 -
The car is much newer PBR so definitely better with the kiddies.
We have been away for a couple of days staying a a friends caravan by the seaside. Boy was it cold  I also think DS may be coming down with something as he has been very clingy all day. Hopefully it's just the aftermath of a couple of late nights and he'll be fine tomorrow.
The end of march is fast approaching now and the promise of 2 pay days is nearing. I had a payslip from my old job today (which i think will be paid Thursday as Friday is a bank holiday). I now know how much that pay will be. I have no idea when my new job will pay me though as I think it said in the employee handbook which I had to send back. I've only got a maximum of 2 days to wait though so I'm sure I'll cope! I just want both wages to go in with little fuss so that I can (hopefully) pay off the joint account o/d. The last o/d standing.
Would be nice if new job wages went in tomorrowGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

:j prayer answered. Wages went in so I now know how much I will be on every month from now on. I've never been salaried before, always paid by the hour. It will be nice to know exactly how much my wages will be every month though.
Wages 2 goes in tomorrow I think so then I can move money around to hopefully pay off the joint account o/d.
Feel like I'm getting somewhere although maybe I shouldn't say that too loud cos that's when things go wrongGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hiya Star
I didn't know you had a diary on here. I have subscribed and look forward to seeing your debt go down. I want to be DF the same time as you so we can help each other. How is the new job going?

Hi CMD nice of you to pop in.
New job seems to be going okay so far. A few hiccups where people think they are helping me but are actually not :rotfl: I just smile and say "thank you" then just ignore them
Off to check my bank now to see if wage 2 has gone in then need to do the money shuffle. I'll be back with updates laterGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Not been on here for a couple of days as have been poorly. Feeling better now though.
Both wages went into my account as hoped and one was sent straight to the joint account to pay off the o/d :j it's been a while since that was in credit. I actually think it'll slip back slightly into the minus figures at some point this month but I have money put aside in case of that happening (I'm hoping it won't)
I also made an overpayment to the windows loan as that's the next debt to go. All extra money from now on will be thrown at that. DH has his c/c to pay off but he needs to learn to overpay so I am not having anything to do with that even though its included in our debt figures.
Tomorrow the kiddies are going to the childminders (pre booked slot) so I get the day to myself. I do have a big list of things to do thoughwhich includes tidying the spare room so I can claim it as an office. Well part of it anyway.
I have been feeling down lately with things not being as I would like them to be and I promised myself that once I started my new job I would start sorting them out. It does seem that since I started I have been under the weather the whole time! But hopefully now I'm back on the straight and narrow so I can start tackling things again.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Afternoon all. Day to myself today as the kiddies are at the childminders. DD was so excited to go. It's the only place that DS goes that she doesn't so I think it was nice for her today to spend the day on her brothers territory if you see what I mean.
I have found it really strange today. They drive me mad most days but now they are not here I really miss themis that odd?
I have got a few things done though. I dropped a parcel off to be sent to mu$1c magp13 that should get me £7 ish. I did some work for church and I got a bit of sewing done. I've still got quite a bit that needs doing so I will get back to it.
I'm picking the kids up at 4 then going to DS's godparents house. I clean for them and they spend time with the kids who they adore -win/win. Ten this evening I plan to get as more crocheting done and hopefully an early night.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Hi Star!
Yes, perfectly normal to miss them when they are away even if they drive you mad! My both had a 3 hour nap the other day and I didn't know what to do with myself! Max dropped naps over a year ago so for him to sleep is very unusual!
Well done on getting all your bits and pieces done!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
