No I don't think it looks cheap - will last longer than a bunch of flowers anyway! Perhaps you could take wine/dessert, that would be my instinct if going for dinner somewhere and should only cost a fiver or so?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Hey up lovely I think the pot of flowers is a far more thoughtful gift and greener too
She's also asked you - not your wallet - most folks don't expect anything when you turn up for tea - mind that on, whilst its nice I'm sure a picture from your DD would actually be so much more thoughtful or the lillies - you're a thoughtful girl. Once I got into the MSE head set all of a sudden flowers seemed just too expensive. Its the thought that counts lovely lady! Whatever you end up doing will be amazing and gratefully recieved.
Hope you have fun over the weekend!

Bits are being gathered Pippi. Can't believe how much stuff we still have. I will be glad when its gone as I spent ages Monday going "ahhhh I can't believe she was so tiny" " ahhhh that's so small" " remember that time she wore that and......" Times infinity
I do miss the baby girl I had but I love love love the little lady she is growing into. This is normal right?
Anyway the attic is much tidier and emptier (is that a word?) but the dining room looks like a bomb has gone off in there. Bags and boxes of stuff everywhere. Hopefully it'll all be gone on Saturday. The market seemed ages away but suddenly it's this Saturday. I'm actually looking forward to it. About time I claimed my house back from all the clutter I hoardGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Just popping by to say hello... :hello: I've been trying to declutter as well - it's been an ongoing task for several years but I committed to talking about it on my blog this year so I was tied to actually doing something about it!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi EH thanks for popping by. I read your blog with interest. Specially love the Friday posts!
Dining room is nearly sorted now. Just need to rehome the different piles now. I am really looking forward to having a clutter free dining room. Even if its the only clutter free room in the house :rotfl:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Our living room is officially the first clutter-free room in the house :j
DH and I spent all day yesterday sorting, tidying, cleaning  and rearranging and it looks lovely. The problem now is keeping it that way.
The dining room is next on our list. It is already much emptier since we had the table top sale on Saturday. We sold loads and made about £30 which wasn't bad as DH kept selling things for 10p!! So we brought back a LOT less than we took. We are planning on doing another one as the lady on the stall next to us said that they are usually much busier than what it was on Saturday so worth another go.
I banked the £30 this morning and have transferred it over to the window loan. That along with the min payment going out on DH's c/c takes us over £3k paid off this year so far or 21% if you prefer %ages.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -

Well done on the decluttering and money making Star! You must feel loads better that you have tackled one room!
OH sold his drums yesterday and they will be gone out of the house tomorrow so that will free up a good bit of space in our spare room. I can't wait til they go, as well as getting the money!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Banks looking a bit worse for wear and payday isn't til next week. Plus I only get 1 payday this month
shouldn't complain as I was very lucky to get 2 the past 2 months. The joys of being paid in arrears. But back to normal now.
I think DH and I need another look at our budget and a bit of re jigging of finances. I am now on a salary and so don't get the chance to earn more money each month, which means that DH will earn more than me every month from now on. We always work out our contributions to joint bills depending on the money we bring in so that could do with a look I thinkGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Waiting for payday is the worst. Not only am I wishing my life away but it brings home the fact that there is too much month at the end of the money
Never mind this is not a moany post. We had a lovely time yesterday for the bank holiday. We went to visit DS's godparents who have a caravan by the sea. The kids had so much fun. We made it onto the beach for about 5 minutes collecting shells until DD decided she was too cold so we went back. The site has a fanastic indoor pool though and we spent ages in there. In fact I was ready to come out before the kids were! They had so much fun in there. They both fell asleep in the car on the way home so DH and I carried them straight up to bed (it was nearly their bedtime) and they slept most of the night. DH and I just had a quiet evening relaxing watching DVD's. The whole day was just lovely and we hardly spent anything. (We bought a loaf of bread for our hosts on our way there as they were running low - not a bad trade off really).
Today I am supposed to be doing work but I can't seem to get motivated so I am doing it in sections with breaks in between. At least I am getting something done even if it's not as much as I wanted to. Both kiddies are at the childminders today (half term here) so I am trying to make the most of it so I don't have to do any work during the day for the rest of the holiday and can spend time with them. Especially DD as she is in school most of the time and I don't get to spend as much time with her as I do DS who is at home with me most of the week.
I hope everyone else is having a good half term/had a good bank holiday weekendGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000
