Well it's been 2 weeks since I came here as I started back to work yesterday :( the shift itself wasn't too bad although I was told it was only an hour and I ended up having to stay for 6 1/4 hrs

I came home and just burst out crying to DH. I think he had seen this coming though as he had cake ready clever boy! I just feel so guilty about leaving the kids. DD hasn't been well and I had to leave her (with DH so not too bad) it was terrible. It has helped me realise that I really do not want to be there so I have to actually get going on other things so I don't have to work there.

It's not easy, is it? But it sounds like you are doing a great job and you're lucky to have such a supportive DH. Wish mine would crack out the cake when I need it!

    Hope you're ok :grouphug:

Hi PBR. Nice of you to drop by. How's things with you?

I think the loan and c/c companies know I've gone back to work. This week I have had 3 "pre-approved" c/c applications and one loan offer  the loan offer was for provi dent and the apr was 365.1% that's disgusting if you ask me

Now I'm back at work I have been neglecting MSE! Not on purpose but I just haven't got time anymore.

I am surviving at work....just! It'll be payday tomorrow but thanks to our company paying us a month in arrears I will only get one weeks pay tomorrow! Gutted. I've had to get buses to work and expenses (which I will get back next month but I still have to pay out first).

Money wise we did a car boot yesterday. We've got so much stuff that we don't need/use that it needed doing. We made £60.60! The 60p went in the sealed pot and DH is currently on his way back from town after paying the £60 off his c/c. He also took quite a few bags to the clothes recycling place so I'm hoping he got a decent amount from them too. That will go off the c/c too.

After paying the car boot money in we are £15 short of being under £5k. I am going to see if we can find that money somewhere and pay that off as it will be a huge milestone for us.

I must confess to buying a shirt yesterday a the car boot. I love it. It's a mans XL so it is WAY too big for me but I love the fabric and will make it into a top I can wear. I have got a few sewing projects that need starting/finishing now so I really need to crack on. Trouble is I can't sew when I've got the baby as he is so inquisitive and I've been working mostly evenings to reduce childcare needs/cost. I might ask DH if he will look after the kids for met get some sewing done at some point. I was thinking of starting a blog to record some of my sewing/crafty projects too. I will have to look into that. It may inspire me to get sewing.

  • Oh well done on the car boot! And a blog - now that will be fun.

Almost under 5k - how utterly exciting - I hope you find a few extra pennies under the sofa etc to clear it under!

Have a great day - I'm so chuffed you got a shirt you like and I'm sure you'll do wonders with the fabric. I'm sure OH will happily take the monkey's to the park for you or something to let you sew, sorry I mean the children!

Boo hiss to be paid in arrears. That sucks.

    Have a great day x

Monkeys is a good description. Especially for DS who now thinks everything is a climbing frame! He will pull himself to standing on anything regardless of whether it is secure or will hold his weight! He used my mums dog to pull himself up yesterday. Luckily she is so laid back she just led there and let him do it. Bless her! He has pulled himself up on DD holding onto her pj bottoms! He has no fear!

Being paid on arrears does suck. I really need a full months wage but won't get it til the end of August. :(

Ooh I forgot to mention. We are going away next week for a couple of days. Only camping in west Wales so nothing really exciting but it's still a holiday so I'm excited. It will be lovely to get away for a bit.

Hope your packing is going well Pippi x

Thanks pippi. We have a few things planned. DD wants to go swimming one day so we'll find a leisure centre or something. Then there's folly farm near by. We'll go for walks and stuff so as long as weather isn't too bad should be okay x

Well DH took the bags to the recycling place and got £15.50 for them. He took that straight to the bank with the car boot money to pay it off the c/c and decided to put some extra to it to make it a round £100. So......drum roll please.......

WE ARE NOW SUB £5k :j

Total debt now is £4974. Not too bad really.

DH also found e paperwork for his c/c and we have longer on the 0% BT than we thought. I thought it was up around September but it's actually not til January so that's better than I thought. Although I still want it gone ASAP.

congratulations on being sub £5k, sorry going back to work has been so hard for you.
I'm already worrying about how i'll feel going back to work towards the end of next month and i'm only looking at being off sick for a couple of weeks, but i'm dreading what i'll be going back to.
