Back to school monday Pippi. Yes it was all after Easter as Easter was so early. So it feels like they have had ages off.

Nothing planned for today. Some fly lady, finishing off DD's homework! Yes I know it should be done by now but it's an art project so it's taken flipping ages! Then tomorrow my running club is taking part in relays.

Do you have any exciting weekend plans?

  • Sounds like a pretty full on weekend to me.

DS is mid thesis so I'm helping by proof reading and providing toast mainly. He's leaving this weekend so trying to get as far as we can with that.

DH is studying for his next assignment - so he's in his man cave.

I'm working some of it on womble stuff and also a bit of my own stuff.

Aside that lot - a bit of cooking/organising for the week ahead. Hmmm meal plan maybe?

Washing/bedding - walk les mutts - all good but necessary!

Dug up a tonne of j. artichokes so need to get them stored/replanted.

I do have one veg bed to finish but its needing mega attention so maybe not this weekend.......

Not really exciting - but just normal house stuff.

:) hope the project goes OK......

I was terrified too. There was a point I was holding hands with another girl as we were so scared  I'm also a slow runner and it was quite fast to start with. The faster runners kind of ran off then had to wait for the slower runners to catch up. But you won't miss anything. The actors wait for the whole group before starting their "bit". Some of them run with you. At one point we had the huntsman run with us to Granny's cottage and he waited til we were altogether before he told us about what he had seen happen in the cottage the week before etc. As it got darker the group tended to stay together more and by the time it was pitch black we were all running as a pack to make use of the head torches to give us more light collectively. So don't worry about that. Definitely worth doing :D

Well today has been a lovely day. DD and I spent some time together finishing off her project, I have almost caught up on the washing and have put a lot of clothes away! Where do they all come from?

I've also had a good look at our finances and I think we are wasting a lot of money. According to my calculations we should have a lot more money left at the end of the month than we actually do. If that's true then we can have the overdrafts paid off in next to no time. The two categories in our budget I don't really keep a very good eye on is shopping and travel costs. I feel that it's those that are frittering money away. Especially the little top up shops that are just supposedly for milk and cost £25  So I think I'm going to keep a track of our spending on the diary to see if my budget of £200 is reasonable or not.

I've added up what we have spent so far this month and it comes to:

    Shopping £162.70/£200
    Travel £73.91/£200

Wow! Our shopping budget has nearly gone already. That includes a big shop and a few little shops that were done before we did the big shop if that makes sense. We could have avoided some of that if we had been more organised and done the big shop as soon as my pay went in the bank. Never mind. I need to keep an eye on it now.

  • Re the shopping - I wonder (thinking for myself here) if I did it online and bought those essentials, if I'd spend less. Might try that when back. My prob is I'm in love with food shopping. Its like a hobby to me.

    Now that does sound sad.

I hope you nail it and have another great day!

Mr Cheery loves food shopping too pippi, he's a right one for a bargain and will trawl round looking for one. He's in charge of food shopping :D I'm more of a 'pop in the co op for milk and spend a tenner' brigade :o

Igamogam, if you search for 'in the company of wolves' you'll ind the theatre people. There's only a few dates but they're dotted around. Thanks for the extra info starnac, we've booked now and are super excited :D

They are called Burn The Curtain but as Cheery rightly says if you search for "In the Company of Wolves" you will find them.

Cheery so pleased you booked. You'll love it. Did you book runner tickets?
