What's there to complain about? Littering is a crime. Your husband simply did it at the wrong time and place and got caught.

I have yet to see the OP complaining about it, all she did was to post on here giving a warning to the rest of us that you can be done for dumping a fag end. Whats wrong with that?

this isnt targeted at the OP, but anyone who drops anything knows they shouldn't, it was drilled in from childhood, and thankfully jobsworth litter spies are up to the task of fining people, even for small cig butts.
also, anyone who claims 'everyone does it' is a moron with a lack of sense, manners and dignity.
i knew there was a good reason i keep my rubbish in my pockets until i find a bin.

Other than it's really obvious littering is a crime!

Other things we maybe should start threads about:

Don't steal you might get arrested.
Dont pour a boiling kettle over your face you might get burnt.
Don't run into a wall head first, it might hurt!

Maybe vent all your frustrations into something useful. If you have read the thread you will see we are converts. Maybe campaign against litter droppers rather than attack me

I have know lots of smokers over the years,most stick their fag butts out of the car window.
I have questioned this and been told.

"I don't want my car to smell bad" hmm well don't smoke then !
"I can't be bothered to empty the ash tray so I don't use it" So your lazy and others can clear up after you ? nice
and "I don't know I just do" Selfish springs to mind

Now that the number of smokers has dropped they start fining people. I don't remember the streets being knee high in fag ash before.

I saw a couple who were outside a factory once in one of those smoking shelters, there were a couple of bins at either end of the shelter but they chose to throw the fag end on the footpath.
