    Cannot tell you how MAD I was, but also how thoroughly ashamed I was too because the store was packed and he made me feel and look an inch tall. I doubt he would have had the courage to speak to a man like that!

    Oh Wow! What a day!

    Reserved 2 at local went to purchase and came out at £5.62. Told them they were 2 for £2.50 online when I reserved, CA went to check but couldn't get on internet! She then rang support who told her that it was 2 for £5 online, they offered me the difference. I refused it and offered to go home and print email and return, which they said was fine but it must show basket total of £2.50.

    I returned to store with email, luckily same CA on so do not have to go into it all again :-). She then did refund no prob, i casually commented how i could do with finding 2 more as I have 4 boys and she kindly went onto computer and told me that there was one in stock at another fairly local store and reserved it for me then sold me the last 1 in her store and rang the other store and asked if they would honour the online price for me. So had to take 1 into other store and return for them to then sell me 2 for £2.50. By this time there was only 20 mins till store closed so when it eventually went through at 2 for £1.87 they left it at that :D.

    So after a lot of running around and explaining I will have foe happy boys come xmas day with 4 skateboards for the pricely sum of £4.37:T

    And to think only yesterday I was tempted to buy 1 skateboard for £5 from sports direct!

  • I have just finished my email to head office. I don't want to name the store at this time because I don't want to publically name and slate the store - until after I have recieved my full apology and investigation from Argos.
    Thanks for your support guys. As soon as I recieve a reply from Argos I will definately name and shame. Incidentally. I have reserved more of the skateboards in a store nearby (different email details and mobile numbers!) and will be going to collect them tomorrow after my husband gets home from work. I am just kinda glad that my husband wasn't with me tonight really because had he been, the store manager would have been picking teeth out of the back of his throat. I don't support violence dont get me wrong, but I know that there is no way he would have gotten away with speaking to me like that infront of my husband!

  • me too, but if I get one at bogo 1/2 price I will be happy! 2 xmas pressies for a fiver! One thing he did say which I thought was funny was he said he had withdrawn these skateboards from sale nationwide and I said he didn't have the power to do that, and he said listen here, I have the power to do whatever I like in this shop. I will be almost tempted to go and buy the boards tomorrow then take my receipt to show him that he doesn't seem to have the power he thinks he does! :)

    He sounds a real arrogant sod ! How dare he speak to people in that manner and publicly humiliate you, Take this as high as you possibly can,and please dont be fobbed off by the usual bog standard apology,The manager of that store should be demoted and also retrained in customer service ! Obviously his role of manager has gone to his head,goodness knows why he sounds atrocious at his job !:mad:
  • I have also written to Head Office not to complain but to perhaps make them aware of the appalling way their managers treat customers. At the end of the day, we didn't invent the price, nor the offer. We reserved something and they gave us the price. I'm happy for them to say "sorry it was a mistake, it you don't wish to buy it at that price, then that's not a problem" if they don't want to refund the difference. I'm not after a forced sale, as legally speaking the customer "offers" a price and the store "accepts" it. After all it's a business and not even the ruddy government is prepared to give us a break so why should Argos? However, to treat customers with contempt because they question a price that they have been quoted is something else.

  • exactly turroncin. You know, if he had come over and said I am really sorry but there has been a computer error. I can't let you have them at £2.50 but I will sell them to you at the price they should be, £3.75 + 1 at half price, I would have accepted that and said no problem.
    It was his whole attitude andthe way he dealt with it on the top of his voice...no. not for me!
