Another satisifed customer here!
They wanted to charge me £7.00 but I queried my confirmation e-mail, out came the manager and it didn't matter how many times he typed in the code it was still having none of it, he finally decided he had got it right and told me £5 so I queried again and explained the £5 on the reservation was the saving, not the total, he then "tap, tap tapped" again and £2.50 is what I paid, I don't think he said more than 5 words to me, so there was no conflab to have! He did take my e-mail away so think I need to delete that guarded e-mail address for Argos or I think my black listed there - having got the pictureka set the other week that was reserved on line but not the correct code!!!!
Anyway, some how I ended up with 2 complete different skate boards but I'm not complaining and will have some happy campers when it comes to Christmas and Birthdays!
:T :T :T Thank you OP :T :T :T"this money saving lark is a full time job"0 -

Well, you've all been luckier than me. I got a right snobby little madam, who obviously has her eye on the career ladder. First my reservation didn't even come up on the computer. The sales boy called the duty manager over and she disappeared for a long time. Then she told me quite smugly that each reservation comes with a clause that the in-store price is the one that has to be paid. I asked her to point that out on my confirmation e-mail. Which she couldn't. She insisted it would have been there at the time of reservation (which it isn't, I checked later). The she changed tactics and argued that there was an error on the website and the price was simply wrong. I tried to (firmly and calmly) argue that a price on a site is an offer of sale and I accepted that sale. She said it was "an invitation to buy". What a lot of nonsense!
I walked away and tried three times to write a complaints e-mail, but each time I submitted it said "the items you have searched for cannot be found".
I don't mind being proven wrong, but I do mind being fobbed off by sales staff who act as if you're mud.0 -

Actually she is right on that, the website price is an 'invitation to treat', you as the customer then make an offer and the store can accept or decline. No need for her to be so smug about it though!!0 -
I've got mine reserved till the end of today (no idea what time they close) but got no way of printing the reservation email and dont think I can face the argument without it!
EDIT...just looked and they are shut anyway, phew!0 -
Just picked mine up. They totalled £5.62 but I showed the assistant who happened to be a trainee my confirmation and he called the team leader over. She checked the system saying it had never been that price but proceeded to override it. When she walked off he told me £5 saying they were £2.50 each. I smiled sweetly and pointed out that it states £2.50 for 2. Poor thing had to call her over again and she overode it a second time.
I can't lie, I felt like I just robbed Argos on the way out but what a great glitch :j
I will have two happy Godson's come Christmas day.
Oh and I didn't print out the confirmation either, I had the email on my phone which I showed to them.My mantra is "Never pay full price!"0 -
I managed to get 2 at Wellingborough today - very nice CS Manager who tried many attempts to get it to go through at £2.50 for the two but in the end gave up and i got charged £2.25 for the two!
Then tried again in Kettering but they were having none of it, refused to sell them to me at £2.50, showed them the email, still refused, said they had also refused two yesterday - told me point blankly pay full price or not have them - i refused them.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0 -

The manager in the one near Tesco let mine through today, think it depends on the store and the manager!"this money saving lark is a full time job"0 -
I went to collect mine today and the manager point blank refused, I did argue my point, but he said he had refused other customers and I was no different, pay full price or don't have them, told him to keep them. Although they would have been a nice additional stocking filler at that price, it wasn't something I would have otherwise brought.
Well done to all who got them and thanks anway OP.:hello:0 -
charged £5.62 for pair albeit email quoted £2.50!
Not have paperwork with me, so emailed customer services upon return and am waiting with bated breath for a refund of the difference!!:rotfl:0
