Well, I went into Argos and showed the girl the reservation print out. She couldn't get to the price on her till so had to call the manager over. At this point, I said, 'this has been checked with Head Office and you do have to honour the price' and 'my 'friend' has bought two already for that price'. :o Lord, so naughty of me!

Anyway, he fiddled around with the till and came up with a price of £2 for the two!

Thanks again OP. Now I just have to find some of the protective gear for a good price...
It's wouldn't have not wouldn't of, shouldn't have not shouldn't of and couldn't have not couldn't of. Geddit?
  • Just picked mine up from Argos in Dartford. I was clearly the first (of seven, apparently they were discussing this morning the unusual arrival of so many skateboards) I was standing there for about 40 mins while they umed and ahhed and looked confused. Finally tho I got my skateboards for £1.85. Hopefully the other people will get theirs quicker now lol. Thanks so much to OP thats my nephews nicely sorted.

I tend to find that going on the offensive straight off is pretty rude and can work against you Birdy12.
Sometimes better tospeak softly and carry a stick.

I have a reservation code for 2 boards in Gosport, Hants going spare with print outs to confirm if anyone wants them?

Who said I spoke to him rudely? I made a couple of statements to the manager, quietly, not loudly. He even got a smile and a thank you when I handed the cash over! Please don't assume.

Similarly you have read into what I said and made assumptions.
Let's not both get ahead of ourselves here.

To say, "you have to" is presumptious and can be construed as rude, often it is far better to allow the person to say, "I will" before instructing them.

they do not have to do anything.
They do not have to sell to you at all, if they choose to then yes, it will need to be at the advertised price however they have the right to decline the offer to sell at that advertised price.

Either way, you and I both got a bargain so that's what matters.

    p.s. I like your signature
